Welcome!

Per your suggestion, I have removed the redirect of fashion house to haute couture, and made a disambiguation page for the term instead, since as you noted, it can have different meanings. I hope that helps. If you want to Wikilink the term in articles, it will, however, go to the disambiguation page rather than to an article. For an article to exist, someone would have to create one if it merits an article, and also afix a disambiguation to the TV series. Short of that, if you want to avoid the disambiguation page if you want to Wikilink it you could create a diverted link as follows: fashion house. Hope that made sense. Softlavender (talk) 02:50, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
- That's fantastic. When I have a moment I will put together a covering/defining entry for "fashion house" to clarify what the term means, (as I did for house model), although I can't help with one for the TV series! (never seen it). Thanks. Mabalu (talk) 02:53, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
- Since the "fashion house" article you envision does not yet exist, the articles should not be moved and redirected as they were. I do not doubt your position on the term is correct, but you describe the distinction as "semantics" here so I am curious how you will write such an article and support it with reliable, verifiable references. I encourage you to write and reference the content on a user subpage like User talk:Mabalu/Fashion house before you worry about where it's going to end up. I am concerned that any article you may come up with "clarifying the use of the term 'fashion house' and explaining how it is distinct from haute couture, and the different things it can mean," may be simply original research and editor POV, as true as it may be. Thanks.— TAnthonyTalk 02:00, 8 February 2009 (UTC)

Hi, I wanted to add that I'm not trying to be difficult or thwart you in any way, and hope that my comments elsewhere on this topic are taken in the helpful nature intended. I'm thinking that the term "fashion house" would be best explained as part of another article, but I don't know enough about it to bend you to my will, LOL ... let me know if I can be of any help! — TAnthonyTalk 07:08, 8 February 2009 (UTC)
Nothing is wrong with this article, it's quite well written. But it needs citations to substantial coverage in reliable sources to establish its notability. ChildofMidnight (talk) 02:56, 5 February 2009 (UTC)

Clare Potter
Hi -
Thanks for the nomination for Clare Potter! I didn't fancy nominating any more of my articles for a while as I felt I'd been lucky enough with the last two, and didn't want to be pushy/blow my trumpet too much. (I'm British, you see.) Anyway, I just wanted to mention that following your nom, you gave me the push I needed to get a sportswear (fashion) entry up, something that had been lacking for a long time. Cheers. Mabalu (talk) 04:27, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
- The New Jersey connection is what did it for me, but it was a great article and deserving of notice. Alansohn (talk) 16:31, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

Clare Potter thanks
The image is great, and I had a look at your edits - really good. I'll come back to the references you inserted and re-work them to fit into the format of the other references within the article, but wanted to say thank you. Do you have a special interest in American fashion history? Mabalu (talk) 22:24, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for the compliment, I have an interest in topics related to New Jersey (among many others), think that images almost always enhance an article, and try to be thorough in researching topics I choose to edit. Often, I have personal experience that enables me to find sources readily or contacts for photographs and relevant materials. ---- 83d40m (talk) 22:48, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
Norma Kamali
Aha! I forgot all about that! I was surprised to find the articled deleted as well and asked the deleting editor for the old version so I could clean it up. I will move it to the top of my to do list, unless you want to take it over? (User:Knulclunk/Norma Kamali) It needs to be done, but I am not attached to it. --Knulclunk (talk) 15:54, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
- Sure, yes please. Do chuck it over here and I'll have a go at sorting it out. Mabalu (talk) 17:32, 20 March 2009 (UTC)

Textile arts
You're quite welcome. Thanks for helping with the textile arts articles; the project has been rather quiet lately. We need to rationalize our mid and low importance articles - any help there would be appreciated, if you are so inclined. It's not super-crucial, but some of our choices don't make much sense in retrospect, though of course deciding which types of lace are mid vs low is always going to be subjective. I am going to bump Provencal and Trapunto quilting to mid-importance. - PKM (talk) 02:20, 7 February 2010 (UTC)
- That sounds reasonable to me to rate them as mid-importance. My expertise is more fashion-based, but I do know a little about textiles in general as a spin-off of that specialism. Am far from being a lace expert though! Mabalu (talk) 02:23, 7 February 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for helping out with references and formatting on the China doll article. I did some further cleaning up, and cleaned up my own references a lot as well. I added some questions/comments on sources at Talk:China doll you may want to look at also. Cheers, Siawase (talk) 12:44, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

See Help:Page history and Help:Diff for information about determining which changes to articles where made by which editors when. Hyacinth (talk) 00:22, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
It appears you added Max Meyer on March 22: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Neiman_Marcus_Fashion_Award&action=historysubmit&diff=279046439&oldid=279044390. Hyacinth (talk) 02:38, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
- I disambiguated Max Meyer to Max Meyer (fashion) after creating an article at the former. I couldn't think of it then but it seems obvious today that it should be "(designer)". Hyacinth (talk) 05:35, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
I recommend participation by fashion editors on the Ugg boots article. This is fashion footwear worn by such celebrities as Sarah Jessica Parker, Kate Hudson, Jessica Simpson and Oprah Winfrey. In most of the world it's a well-recognized designer brand, but in Australia and New Zealand, it's considered a "generic term." Please help. Phoenix and Winslow (talk) 15:47, 22 August 2010 (UTC)
Exeter Blitz
Thanks for noticing the discrepancy between Joan and June in the article on The Exeter Blitz. I wanted to ask - are you sure the correct name is June, not Joan? I have moved since I read the book, and can't check it. Joan seems more likely to me - a more popular name in England at the time. Robina Fox (talk) 15:45, 13 December 2011 (UTC)
- Hello! It's a good question. I used to read it quite a lot as a kid (I'm an Exonian - well, I say Exonian, I wasn't born there, but I lived there pretty much most of my childhood) and I'm pretty sure it's June, rather than Joan. Although I'm not 100% positive, I'm 99% sure it is June. I just had a quick Google around to see what reader's reviews said, and the first couple I found also said June.
