Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:ClareFischer foto.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Strangerer (Talk) 18:15, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest

[edit]

Hi, Maarten. Conflict of interest takes many forms. It can encompass creating an article about yourself or something which you are heavily involved in. It can also apply to major editing of the same kind of articles, even if created by another person.

It applies to the addition of external links too. And that's why I have reverted your insertion of an external link to a website in the David Bowie article, which, although obviously relevant to the subject of the article, has your name stamped in the middle of it. Please have a read up on the Wikipedia policy regarding conflict of interest. Thanks. Ref (chew)(do) 01:50, 7 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

And many others, I'm afraid. If someone apart from yourself or the other named interviewers at ArtistsInterviews.eu were to add the links, there would not be a problem (except if you were to be seen canvassing for such an action on Wikipedia talk pages). Link placement to websites in which you have an interest is seen as promotional, bordering on spam, and is highly discouraged. Thanks. Ref (chew)(do) 02:31, 7 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Maarten de Haan! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 190 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

  1. John Beasley (musician) - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
