User talk:MVFILM
Welcome
[edit]Hi, MVFILM. This is NOT some automated message...it's from a real person. You can talk to me right now. Welcome to Wikipedia! I noticed you've just joined, and wanted to give you a few tips to get you started. If you have any questions, please talk to us. The tips below should help you to get started. Best of luck! Alex - I've used the name MVFILM (my real name is Richard Paradise) for over 5 years on Wiki to make small edits and additions to pages - I have never been made aware of a need to use my real name - I have no reason in doing that - nothing to hide - so if you'd like to change my username to my personal name - please do so. THe changes I made directly relate to events/establishments that I alone manage - Martha's Vineyard Film Society, Martha's Vineyard Film Center, and the Martha's Vineyard International Film Festival.
Thanks
Richard
Good luck with editing; please drop me a line some time on my own talk page. There's lots of information below. Once again, welcome to the fantastic world of Wikipedia! -- Chzz ► 17:11, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that the username you have chosen, "MVFILM", seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of something other than yourself. Please note that you may not edit on behalf of a company, group, institution, product, or website, and Wikipedia does not allow usernames that are promotional or accounts that are shared. If you are willing to use a personal account, please take a moment to create a new account or request a username change that represents only yourself as an individual. You should also read our Conflict of interest guideline and Plain and simple conflict of interest guide, and remember that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. Alexf(talk) 12:58, 28 March 2013 (UTC)
