I just added a question in open questions topic.. And why it got deleted? I just wanted the answer. MUKUL SACHAN (talk) 13:38, 22 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Your question was not just dleted, I moved it to a the correct place, Wikipedia:Teahouse/Questions#New contents on already present topics. See my comment at the bottom of the page. -- GB fan 13:40, 22 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

No i added a question under a topic named astronomy.. There is a open question sub topic and i asked a question there and it was deleted. Why? MUKUL SACHAN (talk) 13:48, 22 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I see what you are talking about now. You added a question to an article. That is not where questions belong and that is why it was removed. If you want to ask a general question about astronomy the place to do that is at Wikipedia:Reference desk/Science. -- GB fan 13:53, 22 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Ok thank you.. MUKUL SACHAN (talk) 14:07, 22 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

But in astronomy article there is open question sub topic.. Why my question is deleted then? And how can i ask question there? MUKUL SACHAN (talk) 14:11, 22 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

That section is for questions that astronomy in general are still trying to answer. They are not questions that editors want answered as the question you added. If you believe a question fits into the general concept of a major hole in the knowledge of the field of astronomy then it can be added there. I Would suggest you go to the talk page and propose that the question be added. You will need to provide a reliable source that says it is a major question that needs to be answered. -- GB fan 14:31, 22 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Why is my content deleted even if i added the topic not copied.. I also provided the website as reference.. I used that as a source of information yet my content is deleted. Why?? Please help. MUKUL SACHAN (talk) 13:36, 22 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

If you read the above information from User:Justeditingtoday this person has already told you that you need to rewrite information from the web site you use as a source in your own words. Copyrighted material cannot be used, for reasons explained if you go to the above links in blue. And assuming other editors find that web site you used as a source to be an appropriate one, it would likely not have the neutral point of view required.
Also, it would be a good idea to discuss at Talk:National Institute of Technology Uttarakhand, Talk:Astronomy, Talk:Just-in-time manufacturing and Talk:Plant layout study.— Vchimpanzee • talk • contributions • 16:13, 7 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Moved your question

[edit]

I moved your question to the appropriate page. You can now find it at Wikipedia:Teahouse/Questions#New contents on already present topics. -- GB fan 13:32, 22 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

No one responded to your question, so let me give it a try. As far as I can tell, you believed content was missing from the article that should be there. You can go ahead and try to add it, but be sure you have independent reliable sources that discuss the topic in some detail. We have to know that what you are adding is true. Also, make sure the edit has neutral point of view and is important enough to include. If you have a disagreement, you can discuss with other editors on the talk page of the article.— Vchimpanzee • talk • contributions • 16:07, 7 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
