IP Users

{{helpme}}

How can you tell if an IP Address is shared? MMS2013 00:46, 1 December 2009 (UTC)

Most IP addresses are shared (they change from each person, depending on the provider) except for some known as static IP addresses. There is no real way to tell is it is shared or not, however.  fetchcomms 00:50, 1 December 2009 (UTC)

Schoolblock

{{helpme}}

How can I request a school block? User:67.226.128.0 has a quite a history of vandalism, and is registered to a "Calgary Girls School" The whois is here. MMS2013 20:58, 7 December 2009 (UTC)

If a user or IP is activeley vandalizing after being sufficiently warned for their actions you can then file a report at WP:AIV and the user/IP will be blocked by an Administrator. However, the IP address you have supplied doesn't appear to have ever edited Wikipedia. Jeffrey Mall (talkcontribs) - 21:07, 7 December 2009 (UTC)

Two Questions

{{helpme}}

I have two questions:

1. How do you create subpages for your userpage? 2. How do you archive your talk page?

Thanks, MMS2013 01:30, 14 December 2009 (UTC)

The easiest way to create subpages is to go to your userpage and add a link like [[/subpagename]]. Clicking on that will take you to User:MMS2013/subpagename, which you can then edit. Otherwise you can type "User:MMS2013/subpagename" to the search box and click "Go". This will also take you to the same page. Also see Wikipedia:Subpages. For help with archiving, see Help:Archiving a talk page ≈ Chamal talk ¤ 01:36, 14 December 2009 (UTC)

Userboxes

{{helpme}} How can I center a userbox on my user page? MMS2013 15:50, 18 December 2009 (UTC)

You can center userboxes by putting them in a table by following one of the examples at Wikipedia:Userboxes#Using tables. You center the two userboxes on the top of your userpage by putting them in a table with this code:
{| style="margin: 1em auto 1em auto"
|-
|{{Sa-novice-ubx}}{{User rollback}}
|}
which would produce
This editor is a Novice Editor and is entitled to display this Service Badge.
This user has rollback rights on the English Wikipedia. (verify)
Please let me know if there are any more questions. Thanks! --Mysdaao talk 19:31, 18 December 2009 (UTC)

To our newest rollbacker

I have granted rollback rights to your account; the reason for this is that after a review of some of your contributions, I believe you can be trusted to use rollback correctly, and for its intended usage of reverting vandalism, and that you will not abuse it by reverting good-faith edits or to revert-war. For information on rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback and Wikipedia:Rollback feature. If you do not want rollback, just let me know, and I'll remove it. Good luck and thanks. Your recent edits

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 01:20, 22 December 2009 (UTC)
