I realize what you're trying to accomplish by putting the protection template on the S.T-C. article but that's not the way pages get protected. See WP:SEMI for the semi-protection policy. An admin actually has to go through the process of locking an article. Normal users like you and I can't just throw the template up on that page and get it protected. Besides which, I don't think it deserves protection since Lylith has contacted both of us and seems to finally be trying to work this out in an adult manner as opposed to simply blanking the info. Lineage of Lyta Alexander

[edit]

I probably agree with you about this article, but given the way the prod was done, I felt it was best to remove it. Suggesting a merge prevents deletion, since the GFDL requires a record of edits be kept. Plus your comments should not have been put on the main article, but on the talk page instead. Feel free to make a merge and redirect to Lyta Alexander though, if that's what you really want to do. FrozenPurpleCube 07:00, 10 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I don't know the sources either, though I suspect either a novelization, or the RPG. FrozenPurpleCube 02:38, 12 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there

I've undone your edits on 2-Butoxyethanol because you appear to have confused the two. One possible name for 2-butoxyethanol is ethylene glycol, monobutyl ether. In other words, 2-butoxyethanol is the butyl ether of ethylene glycol; they are not synonymous. If you have other questions, please drop them at my talk page. --Rifleman 82 (talk) 10:26, 31 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading images/media to Wikipedia! There is, however, another Wikimedia Foundation project called Wikimedia Commons, a central media repository for all free media. In future, please upload media there instead (see m:Help:Unified login). That way, all of the other language Wikipedias can use them too, as well as our many sister projects. This will also allow our visitors to search for, view and use our media in one central location. If you wish to move previous uploads to Commons, see Wikipedia:Moving images to the Commons (you may view images you have previously uploaded by going to your user contributions on the left and choosing the 'image' namespace from the drop down box). Please note that non-free content, such as images claimed as fair use, cannot be uploaded to the Wikimedia Commons. Help us spread the word about Commons by informing other users, and please continue uploading!--OsamaK 18:12, 13 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think the best think is to stop uploading all free images to Wikipedia, We don't care about large or small files, they all must be in Wikimedia Commons. Old files will be moved to Wikimedia Commons soon.--OsamaK 08:13, 14 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed non-free use rationale for Image:1-56ada.gif

[edit]

Thank you for uploading Image:1-56ada.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Spitfire19 03:09, 25 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:6thada-dui.gif

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:6thada-dui.gif. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 09:36, 2 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Tent

[edit]

I notice that your recent change to tent was flagged as 'minor'. My understanding is that 'minor' changes are very small changes such as spelling, punctuation, vandalism reversion, and the like. Some editors have their preferences set to not display 'minor' changes on their watchlist. I've no problens with your actual edit - keep up the good work. COYDOG

[edit]

did u post that image of a coydog, if so can u tell me more about it?i adopted a female dog that looks just like this one! thank you! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bilallilth (talkcontribs) 06:37, 19 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

She was found by an animal control officer as a stray. I had her briefly. She was very intelligent, but waaay to active. Coydogs are as smart as 5-7 year olds and they need lots of exercise and play to simulate them. I had givern her a bath and snapped the pic with my cell phone. Her name was Kai, a local cab driver adopted her because I was on active duty at the time. Coydogs are shy and wary around people. They are destructive so giver her lots of toys and treats to play with. I hope your dog does well. Lyta79 (talk) 18:32, 19 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Both files came from Army Knowledge Online, they were downloaded from a folder that has ADA regimental history. AKO logon is required for access, but the images and copyright are owned by the US Army.Lyta79 (talk) 05:58, 31 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

"Coyote-German Shepherd Hybrid" photo

[edit]

Do you have any information on the dog in this photo? I ask because I believe it is a Sarloos Wolfdog, not a coyote hybrid. Having worked with several major shelters and rescue organizations across the country, I have found that government employess do not have the training to identify rare breeds or hybrids. I would be very surprised if the canid shown is a coyote hybrid, and I'd like to learn its disposition. Do you know how to contact the source? If you do a Google image search for Sarloos Wolfdog or Sarloos Wolfhoud, you will find some excellent photos of the breed and you'll see what I mean. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.18.174.231 (talk) 01:25, 1 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I have no further information on the dog. Coyote hybrids are common in El Paso and are illegal. I believe the dog was either taken to a shelter or destroyed. The animal control officer was let me take the picture because he was a friend of mine and I'd never seen a coydog before. Sadly there is tremendous hatred in El Paso Tx for "hybrids" and a market for fake "wolves", these are coydogs or other dogs that can pass for a wolf to the ignorant. The poor thing had been breed to death and was found ont he side of the road. Lyta79 (talk) 01:33, 1 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry to hear that. As your photo demonstrates, coydogs are difficult to identify. It is sad to think how many dogs are misidentified as hybrids and destroyed because of it. If you still know the animal control officer, perhaps you can show him some images of the Sarloos Wolfhound/Sarloos Wolfdog/Sarloos Wolfhund so he'll recognize one in the future. Since you say she had been bred many times, it seems likely that more might turn up. Since their ancestry is German Shepherd and wolf, they fit the profile those unethical breeders are after. Thank you for the information. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dragonflyspit (talkcontribs) 17:42, 1 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
