Tropical depression numbers
[edit]Hey there! I was wondering, how come you're rewriting the numbers for tropical depressions? When the National Hurricane Center monitors a depression, they write out the number (right now, there is Tropical Depression Nine), never using the numeral. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 02:15, 17 September 2015 (UTC)
- Hope you see this. You should really discuss this before doing this unilaterally. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 02:25, 17 September 2015 (UTC)
- I'm sorry you don't like it, but we've had it written out for over ten years on Wikipedia. I think it's great that you're interested in hurricanes, and I'd love to work with you on articles, but I happen to disagree with you about writing the numbers out. Please hold off on changing any more numbers until we discuss this more. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 02:36, 17 September 2015 (UTC)
- I understand as well. However when I started editing, I did agree with you of having numbers instead. Btw @Hurricanehink: why does the NHC doesn't use numbers (like 5, 8) for both the Atlantic and Pacific hurricane seasons? Not even instead of the formal designations like 09L, 10L, 11E? Typhoon2013 (talk) 06:48, 18 September 2015 (UTC)
- The NHC was originally only the warning center for the Atlantic, so for the longest time, they only needed to call the storms "Tropical Depression Two". When they took over the EPAC in 1988, they started labeling the EPAC systems as "Tropical Depression One-E". So they do write it out for the EPAC as well. I'm not sure why they write out the numbers (one, two) instead of just having the numerals (1, 2). By contrast, Meteo-France in the SWIO uses the numerals (1, 2) for their depressions. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 20:03, 18 September 2015 (UTC)
- @Hurricanehink: Hmm. I wonder why as well. Should someone in the project attempt to ask them like Jason? I'll have a try on researching this. Typhoon2013 (talk) 09:49, 19 September 2015 (UTC)

Birth dates and ages
[edit]Hi LyrickStudios1983, if you're going to add ages to biographical articles, could you use {{birth date and age}} or {{birth year and age}} instead of specifying their age? Putting the age in directly will result in incorrect information as time passes, whereas the template will calculate the age based on the current date, and add metadata to the page that can be used elsewhere. Thanks. clpo13(talk) 21:24, 20 September 2015 (UTC)

MiLB titles in infoboxes
[edit]Thanks for your edits showing how many titles MiLB teams have won. Please see Template:Infobox Minor League Baseball for new parameters (|classnum, |leaguenum, |confnum, and |divnum) which can be used to show number of titles in a cleaner, more streamlined way. Let me know if you have any questions. NatureBoyMD (talk) 02:08, 5 October 2015 (UTC)
Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please make use of the sandbox if you'd like to experiment with test edits. Thank you. Specifically, please refrain from using bold numbers at the start of a list of years to indicate championships. This presents the information in an unclear fashion. Please use the fields I mentioned above to display championship numbers in a way that mimics Template:MLB infobox and presents the information more clearly. Please let me know if you have any questions about their use. NatureBoyMD (talk) 14:08, 5 October 2015 (UTC)
