Unsolicited advice

[edit]

Hi Lulu-lists, I noticed that you are a very new account, and so I just wanted to mention that WP:AGF is a really important policy, not just for civility here, but possibly more importantly for our own sanity while editing, especially when working on political topics. There are a lot of good editors here whose political ideology is incredibly opaque on Wikipedia, despite possibly being very active politically outside of Wiki. The other editor with whom you are having issues is a long-time administrator who I have seen editing other articles, and I have to say that I have never seen them tolerate bigotry in any way and from my perspective they seem to be very interested in maintaining fair, unbiased articles that are properly sourced and verified. A practice I have been trying to implement recently is to just take a few days before responding to certain discussions when it is something I feel strongly about. It normally doesn't make me feel any less strongly about it, but it does allow for me to have a few days without the stress of thinking about a response as well as an opportunity for other editors to give their input and for more sources to be published in the meantime. If you care about the impact that Wikipedia has, then please realize that you being around here editing for many years to come will have the biggest positive impact and unnecessary stress will only make that less likely. I hope to see you around many years from now! – notwally (talk) 21:45, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

This advice is indeed unsolicited and unwanted.
FYI, Muboshgu has just shown understanding towards Mike Johnson (Speaker of the United States House of Representatives) who sided with the transphobes who called for a bathroom bill that targets only a single person, namely, Sarah McBride.
So much for assuming good faith.

I don't know if you are purposely trying to misrepresent other editors or are just too caught up in whatever you are trying to push, but good luck with your attitude. I suspect you will not be here long. Take care. – notwally (talk) 21:10, 21 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
