  • Gotta say, you did some amazing work, both on this and Pupperazzi (plus on Windbound/Dodgeball Academia drafts whenever you finish/submit them). I believe you can freely start articles on your own without waiting on drafts approval that can often take too long, you have what it takes for creating articles. recent edit

[edit]

Hello and thank you for helping me creating my first article (Milkchoco FPS).

I'm new here, may I ask why the external links needed to be removed? Do I need to include them as references instead?

Also, I don't get why the images should get deleted. I made some myself and the others are all used freely on internet...? Is it the wrong level of licence?

Thanks in advance for explaining :) Kalyaa (talk) 22:53, 5 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @Kalyaa, WP:ELPOINTS number 2 is the reason why I removed those links. Every image in the draft is non-free. Non-free content cannot be included in drafts, which is why I said every image here should get deleted. Ludoyo (talk) 00:55, 6 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
For the images, I'll try to contact the owner. Will they be accepted if I upload them again after moving the draft to the mainspace? or do I need the correct licence?
Also, does that apply to the pictures I made myself?
Sorry for bothering you with basic questions 😅 Kalyaa (talk) 07:28, 6 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Kalyaa Don't worry, you're not bothering me. Free and non-free content would be accepted if the draft was moved to mainspace. You would need to use the correct license, of course. This also applies the images you made yourself.
Unfortunately, Draft:Milkchoco FPS doesn't pass the general notability guideline right now.
If you have any more questions, feel free to ask! Ludoyo (talk) 12:13, 6 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, so I don't need to delete the images, I can simply publish the article when it's ready.
I don't understand why it doesn't pass the notability guideline, it has more than 30 million players and received 3 national Google rewards... How much more references do I need to add? (The game is mostly popular in Japan, there's tons of articles about it but very few in English... can I still link the articles in Japanese?) Do I need for example Google scholar articles? Kalyaa (talk) 12:56, 6 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Here's the first sentence of the GNG section: A topic is presumed to be suitable for a stand-alone article or list when it has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject.
This means that a video game could have 30, 100, or 300 million players, but not pass GNG. Non-English sources can be used, if they are reliable. Ludoyo (talk) 13:08, 6 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Kalyaa If you would still like to write about video games, WikiProject Video games exists. Ludoyo (talk) 13:17, 6 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks ! I will try to publish this one after making the necessary changes. Kalyaa (talk) 14:22, 6 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
To save you from a decline or a Not ready for mainspace, incubate in draftspace, I wouldn't try to publish the draft. Ludoyo (talk) 14:28, 6 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I understand that my article still has some issues. However, the page already exists in Japanese and wasn't taken down (although the sources don't include any coverage, only the developer's Facebook account).
... So I'm a bit confused about this GNG rule, as it is obviously not respected in the Japanese version...?
https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E3%83%9F%E3%83%AB%E3%82%AF%E3%83%81%E3%83%A7%E3%82%B3%E3%82%AA%E3%83%B3%E3%83%A9%E3%82%A4%E3%83%B3FPS Kalyaa (talk) 11:53, 10 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Kalyaa The Japanese Wikipedia might have its own version of GNG. I'm not sure. Ludoyo (talk) 12:01, 10 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
alright, thank you. I asked for help on the Wikipedia discord server, I'll delete most of my sources and search for more relevant ones. Kalyaa (talk) 12:23, 10 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Alright. Wikipedia:WikiProject Video games/Sources might help. Ludoyo (talk) 12:27, 10 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Kalyaa There are some video games on the WikiProject Video games/Requests page that pass GNG. You could choose one of them and start another draft. Ludoyo (talk) 14:34, 6 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@BMA-Nation2020 Good job, but there is one problem. You uploaded non-free images to Commons, so they have to be deleted. When that happens, re-upload the images with the File Upload Wizard, but make sure you click the button that says "Upload a non-free file". Ludoyo (talk) 15:51, 29 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Where can i find it? BMA-Nation2020 (talk) 16:05, 29 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks BMA-Nation2020 (talk) 17:00, 29 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
i got other Skydance games to work on if you like. I need to fix up PWND before it gets shut down. BMA-Nation2020 (talk) 17:25, 29 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I would, but I don't think it passes GNG either. A mention in Skydance Media would work, though. Ludoyo (talk) 17:47, 29 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Happy Holidays

[edit]
@The Night Watch: Thanks, and happy holidays to you too! (Also, good job bringing those 5 articles to GA status!) Ludoyo (talk) 00:05, 25 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I would suggest not spending time trying to create the article and simply add the info to the original article. On Steam it describes itself as "The new version of the acclaimed and multi-award winning game “Horizon Chase World Tour”" making it more of a remaster. The sequel definitely would merit an article of its own though it may be WP:TOOSOON for that. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ () 08:30, 28 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I see what you mean. Besides, I need to update that list on my user page. Ludoyo (talk) 16:20, 28 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for patrolling!

[edit]

I'm not active in any of the projects relevant to the vinyl data article. It certainly seems like an interesting but small-niche topic of low importance. It was split out of a larger article (List of video game soundtracks released on vinyl) that itself was already 'importance=low'. But here this now seems like an actual article that happens to have a list, rather than a list-article itself. It's the only place this topic's content actually exists. Is 'class=list' right for it? DMacks (talk) 23:44, 14 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Good point, list class isn't right for this. I'll change it. Ludoyo (talk) 00:15, 15 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the quick re-check! DMacks (talk) 03:48, 15 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
