Bobby Smith, Jr.

Can you help me understand why you moved Bobby Smith, Jr. to Bobby Smith, Jr? Is there somewhere it says not to include punctuation for jr in titles? What to you mean, "...puncuation '.' following Jr disabled search and hyperlinking to page." reddogsix (talk) 03:27, 20 June 2012 (UTC)

Yes, I made the change because whenever the link was shared via email or posted within a link space (Bobby Smith, Jr. has a fan page on Facebook for example) or on a blog, the link would not work properly because periods (such as the period following Jr in Bobby Smith,Jr.), do not work in a URL space unless it is formatted as a dot, for example .com. Please understand that this revision was made to make linking work for all potential viewers. When people would click the hyperlink it would auto-format, omitting the period after Jr in the URL bar. In consequence the wikipedia page was not found. Because of this, it was a conscious choice to drop the period following Jr for the sake of preventing future hyperlinking errors.
