Hello, Lucylawlor, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Shalor and I work with the Wiki Education Foundation; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Draft notes

[edit]

Hi! I have some notes for you:

  • Avoid vague periods of time and terms like 'recently', as this is time sensitive and fairly relative to the person reading the article. Recent for some can mean last month while others will assume recently means last year. It's also a term that can quickly go out of date as time passes and it's also just unclear to the reader as to when something happened.
  • It's also important to avoid writing in a too casual tone, as this can make an article seem promotional - even if this wasn't the intent. I've gone over part of the article, but the rest needs to be cleaned up some. The services section needs to be re-written especially.
  • This needs to have the sources in-line, per Wikipedia's citation guidelines. This also needs more coverage in independent and reliable sources, in order to establish notability. When using sources, make sure that some of them aren't reprints of a story but in a different paper or outlet, as some papers will do this. AP Press or Reuters stories are often reprinted in multiple papers.

I would look at some of the articles on other arts districts to see how those are organized, such as Arts District, Dallas. Be careful of how they're written since not all of them are of high quality. You can see more of them here. Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 19:48, 16 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
