Editing things

[edit]

Hi, Lucy-S. I recently removed your addition of the Context convention from the Context disambiguation page, since there's no Wikipedia article to disambiguate from other "Context" pages yet. However, I would be happy to help you start a WP article on the convention, if you like. It has gotten mention in the Columbus Dispatch, at least, so notability may be established.

One other thing I noticed is that you added a note to the Gary A. Braunbeck article (along with several other edits) indicating that his wife is Lucy A. Snyder. If I make the assumption that you are that Lucy A. Snyder, you should also be aware of the guidelines on autobiography WP:AUTO. While it doesn't mention anything about writing about your immediate family, the spirit of the guideline still applies. I haven't looked at all of the edits, and I haven't seen anything that looks like it's non-neutral, but something to be aware of (I wasn't aware of it when I edited my own article).

Finally, if you add an external link to an article, don't mark the edit as minor. Adding wikilinks would (usually) be minor, but external links are more closely monitored, I've found.

I hope that my offer to help with the Context page offsets some of the "rulebook-thumping" tone of the rest of this message. It's always nice to see a professional writer take on some Wikipedia editing, so I am happy you're here. -- JHunterJ 16:09, 30 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Context convention type

[edit]

In Context you said in an edit summary "changed "literary" to "science fiction" for accuracy": speculative fiction, perhaps, since it covers fantasy and horror too? -- JHunterJ 12:59, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Del Howison 2005.jpg

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Del Howison 2005.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 00:19, 28 August 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. –Drilnoth (T • C • L) 00:19, 28 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
