Improving your article
[edit]Dear Lucarellie:
It's great that you have decided to improve this article.
Your is most likely about a notable conference, but it's not possible to tell from your references because they are almost all from the conference web site, procedings, etc. A Wikipedia article should not be about what the organization says about itself, but about what others are saying about it. Are there newspaper, outside journal or newsletter articles that you can reference?
Here's a good place to start: at the top of the page you say that certain organizations "support" the conference. These organizations must have publications, so if they support the conference you can find a document from each organization that says so, and specifically in what way.
Also, you absolutely can't use the conferences own publications or web site to say how great it is, that it is "renowned" or "ranks at the top". Just take those references right away and just don't say those things unless you can prove them from outside sources.
The reviewer made a number of suggestions on the top of the page which may help.
There is a lot of duplication on the page. It says at the top of the page what the conference is for, but then you say it again several times further down the page. You say that it will be a gathering of experts, and then you say it again another way later.
The page is full of industry buzz words. It may be perfectly readable in an industry journal, but Wikipedia articles have to be readable by people who aren't in the industry. For example, what is biomass feedstock, or supply chain stakeholders? If it's too difficult to explain, then you've probably put in too much detail that regular readers don't need to know.
In my opinion, as one who knows nothing about biomass but a lot about conferences, here's what your page should say:
1 Lead sentence telling what the conference is and its purpose. You have that now. You can use the conference web site to reference this.
2. Short general description of the conference, (speakers, discussions, meetings, exhibits, award presentations) Outside references needed, especially to support words like "expert", "well-known", etc.
3. History - how did it start, where were the conferences held, maybe about how many attendees, combine your highlights section in here. Outside references needed; were the conferences discussed in the press or in industry newsletters other than the conference publications?
4. Publications - short simple description . Outside references needed for any claim to notability.
5. Affiliated organizations - in what way are they connected to or support the conference? Outside references needed, could be from the other organizations.
Leave out all of the stuff about goals, aims, other motivations; it's what actually happened that should be reported, not what various people had in mind.
Whew! Sorry, hope I haven't depressed you, but you asked for it! —Anne Delong (talk) 13:23, 20 February 2013 (UTC)
