Lightning Rod hybrid/steel argument
[edit]- Note: The first post in this discussion was moved here from User talk:GoneIn60
Before I respectfully make my argument, I would like to say this, you have no right to tell me not to make an edit to a page, I did nothing wrong or; “disruptive” as you said. I was simply fixing a fact, witch is what this platform is for.
I have a couple of points to make, I am a very well traveled coaster enthusiast and I have never met one that classifies coasters by just it’s track. With your logic, there is no hybrid coasters, none of the famous RMC’s that people always refer to as hybrids… except for Lightning Rod, as not all of it’s track is steel. That’s not one of my main points but it’s true.
The next thing I want to bring to your attention is that you twisted what I said, I never stated that a ride is classified by just it’s supports, but the combination of that and the track.
Last point. I never said that RCDB was a primary source, remember it’s the same website that classifies Fury 325 as a Hyper coaster, but I305 as a Giga. However, Wikipedia is not a primary source either, but what it identifies a hybrid coaster as would make Lightning Rod a hybrid
Since there’s really know conclusion, if you would like reply to this message with you email address and we can have a proper discussion. Lucapellegri09 (talk) 13:34, 12 July 2022 (UTC)
- Respectfully, the reason why you have been warned is not because you are necessarily incorrect. The process on Wikipedia when there is a disagreement is to stop disrupting the page and discuss the conflict. If you continue to revert the page to your preferred version, during the discussion or instead of discussing, then this could be seen as edit warring and could lead to a block. While I appreciate that you've taken the time to lay out a preface to your argument, further discussion at this point needs to occur at one of the article talk pages, such as this one where I've already opened a discussion: Talk:Lightning Rod (roller coaster)#Hybrid classification. In response to one of your claims, however, I will say this. RCDB is not contradicting itself. When you see "Hyper Coaster" at Fury 325, this is the roller coaster model. B&M doesn't call their models Giga Coasters. Intamin, on the other hand, does, which is why you see "Giga Coaster" in the Intimidator 305 entry. If we were talking about height classifications, then they are both Gigas. If we are talking about models, one is a Hyper Coaster. Let's discuss on the talk page to straighten out all the other concerns. Thank you. --GoneIn60 (talk) 14:27, 12 July 2022 (UTC)
