{{Help me}}
In my sandbox is a major redraft of the article on Joan Hassall. The existing article is based entirely on internet references, and its greatest defect is the significant omissions from her life and work. I have rewritten the article, and referenced it to primary and secondary printed sources, and retained the useful internet sources. How do I go about replacing the existing article? Do I just copy mine in instead?
- Since User:Lowbourne/sandbox only contains edit by yourself then the answer is a reserved "yes". Just copy and paste into the article. I say reserved yes as I've no idea if this a better version, it might be prudent to ask other like minded editors if they agree with you - or you can just be bold.
- If the sandbox had been a collaboration of edits from different people then you would have to ask for a history merge (not something you can do yourself). Ronhjones (Talk) 01:07, 24 March 2012 (UTC)
Lowbourne - I see you have updated the article on Joan Hassall. Don't worry about doing something wrong on Wikipedia. If anyone else cares about her they'll reedit your work. But don't say things like "Ronhjones advised me to be bold". You're on your own here. I came across you when you edited the article on Bookselling. I too am interested in books. Welcome to Wikipedia. We need serious people who might turn out to be longtime editors here. If I can be of any help to you, drop me a line. -- GroveGuy (talk) 02:51, 25 March 2012 (UTC)
How you update Golden Cockerel Press is completely your call. I wouldn't presume to suggest how you might go about it. I do think it is good for new people to have a variety of experiences in Wikipedia - fighting vandalism and correcting typos for example. In that article I see a suggestion for a new article: do you see "Oak Knoll Press" at the bottom in red? I think it deserves its own article. -- GroveGuy (talk) 06:14, 26 March 2012 (UTC)

File copyright problem with File:Hughesstanton.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:Hughesstanton.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright and licensing status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can verify that it has an acceptable license status and a verifiable source. Please add this information by editing the image description page. You may refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.
Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Stefan2 (talk) 15:03, 27 March 2012 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for April 5
[edit]Hi. When you recently edited Blair Hughes-Stanton, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages River Stour and Samuel Butler (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

You have two different birth years for Jackson, 1901 (article) and 1910 (category and persondata). It is nice to know other people, besides me, make this kind of mistake. I don't know which digit was transposed. Bgwhite (talk) 00:55, 9 May 2012 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
