Please read WP:RS Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, blogs, etc. are not reliable sources. Everard Proudfoot (talk) 20:45, 30 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I read it and it says this "unless written or published by the subject of the biographical material.", which is the case here.

What is the evidence that she is the author of those Tweets? Everard Proudfoot (talk) 20:53, 30 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

She stated herself. I am abiding by the rules here.

I've posted a question about this at WP:RSN. It has always been my belief, based on previous experience, that such material is not proper for sourcing. Everard Proudfoot (talk) 20:58, 30 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

if its published by the subject of the biographical material it can be used according to WP:RS Countless famous people are quoted from their Twitter Page on Wiki, such as Courtney Love

Even better: I found a magazine article that supports the statement. I went ahead and added this reference. Regards, P. D. Cook Talk to me! 03:13, 1 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, someone deleted it though and said it is not allowed, though have seen quotes in magazine articles for many people here. I reverted back to her twitter since it d does say under WP:RS that is allowed.

This is the final warning you will receive regarding your disruptive edits.
The next time you violate Wikipedia's biographies of living persons policy by inserting unsourced or poorly sourced defamatory or otherwise controversial content into an article or any other Wikipedia page, as you did to Dita Von Teese, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Everard Proudfoot (talk) 21:41, 2 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I am not in any violation, Please read WP:RS Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, blogs, etc. can be used as quotes. It clearly states, "unless written or published by the subject of the biographical material.", which is the case here. Countless celebs are quoted from their twitter here such as Courtney Love

Read the discussion at Wikipedia:RSN#Dita_Von_Teese. Everard Proudfoot (talk) 21:54, 2 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I read it, waiting for reply to me. I dont think its fair you keep reverting my edits when it clealry says it can be used. If it cant then every celeb should have any ref to their twitter account deleted like courtney love and ashton kutcher, do you want the full list of celebs who are quoted from their twitter here so you can delete the comments?

WP:RS

Put the source in again and I will report you for vandalism and violating WP:BLP. And please sign your Talk page posts with four tildes - ~~~~ Everard Proudfoot (talk) 22:12, 2 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Gotta agree with Lovegames here - WP:RS does indeed state that "Self-published or questionable sources may be used as sources of information about themselves..." with some qualifications that seem to be met here. And Everard, issuing vandalism warnings over content dispute is highly inappropriate. 69.181.249.92 (talk) 22:15, 2 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I've lodged a protest with the blocking admin. Hopefully you'll see some action soon. 69.181.249.92 (talk) 23:41, 2 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

WP:3RR WARNING

[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Dita Von Teese. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. When in dispute with another editor you should first try to discuss controversial changes to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. Should that prove unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. If the edit warring continues, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Everard Proudfoot (talk) 01:41, 3 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked

[edit]
You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for Repeated Vandalism. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. FASTILY (TALK) 22:17, 2 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

{{unblock|I wrote an edit which states on Dita Von Teese bio "Dita has stated via her Twitter page that is part Armenian ref http://twitter.com/DitaVonTeese/status/1808509968 It clearly states underWP:RS that Twitter, Myspace, facebook, etc can be used as a source "unless written or published by the subject of the biographical material.", which is the case here.

Wikipedia:RSN#Dita_Von_Teese states the twitter source can be used.

I was following the guidelines..Everard Proudfoot kept deleting my edits even though by the guidelines it says it was fine to use Dita Von Teese twitter account as a source and even though in the Wikipedia:RSN#Dita_Von_Teese it was established i could as well. He/she never explained why it says ok to use a verified twitter account under WP:RS when according to he/she is not allowed. He/she had no comment or explained WP:RS guidelines of twitter, he/she just banned me even when under discussion other uses said i was following guidelines.

FASTILY banned me with reason at all after it was established my edit was ok to use.

The user Everard Proudfoot also verbally abused me as you can see from the text below. I was unfairly treated and feel this user is not following the guidelines here. I was unfairly blocked.

Your request to be unblocked has been granted for the following reason(s):

This was a content dispute and a reasonable disagreement over WP:RS. It certainly wasn't vandalism.
