- ^ Ross was elected to replace Gallatin and was sworn in on April 24, 1794.
- ^ Muhlenberg was offered an appointment by President Jefferson, and resigned on June 30, 1801.
- ^ Logan was appointed to replace Muhlenberg and was sworn in on July 13, 1801.
- ^ Maclay resigned on January 4, 1809.
- ^ Senator-elect Leib was appointed to finish the session, and was seated January 9, 1809.
- ^ Leib resigned on February 14, 1814 to become Postmaster of Philaelphia.
- ^ Roberts was elected to replace Leib and was sworn in on February 24, 1814.
- ^ At first the legislature couldn't decide, Findlay was finally seated on December 10, 1821.
