Aurora, Plainfield and Joliet Railroad Route Map Sources

[edit]

Hey,

I've been looking into mapping the Aurora, Plainfield and Joliet Railroad. I've seen your route diagram and there aren't any sources listed on the wiki page or the template page for it. I was wondering where you got the information for the stops. I live in the area and have heard of most of the places except for Bells and Five Corners. So if you have the sources at all, linking them would be very much appreciated. MineBloxKy (talk) 23:45, 11 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately I don’t have the source handy. I believe it came out of Vol. 4 of Aurora–Elgin Area Streetcars & Interurbans by Hopkins Stolp Peffers, but I’m not 100% on that. Most of my information comes/came from my father’s railroad library, but I moved out of state several years ago and I don’t have the time or money to visit the house in the near future. I feel fairly certain that the information came out of a book, not a trade journal or historical magazine. Peffers seems most likely. Invitation to participate in a research

[edit]

Hello,

The Wikimedia Foundation is conducting a survey of Wikipedians to better understand what draws administrators to contribute to Wikipedia, and what affects administrator retention. We will use this research to improve experiences for Wikipedians, and address common problems and needs. We have identified you as a good candidate for this research, and would greatly appreciate your participation in this anonymous survey.

You do not have to be an Administrator to participate.

The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page and view its privacy statement .

Please find our contact on the project Meta page if you have any questions or concerns.

Kind Regards,

WMF Research Team
