Hello Usedtobecool Happy New Year by the way! :-) Just wanted to touch basis to see if you were you notified of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kent Tate? I recently attempted to make two edit requests - 8 January & 9 January to the KT article - the latest was to add a filmography. Big surprise they were both denied.... I tried to get clarification in the Teahouse and gave multiple examples of other pages and just got the old standby WP:OTHERSTUFF exists.LorriBrown (talk) 22:54, 9 January 2020 (UTC)
- A very happy new year to you too, LorriBrown. I wasn't aware you were still working on this but I do have the article on my watchlist. So, I was surprised by the edit request and then of course, yeah, I saw the AfD notice. I will be keeping an eye on how that goes. WP:CAN may be of interest to you if you intend to try and notify other editors of the discussion as well. Best wishes! Usedtobecool ☎️ 11:39, 10 January 2020 (UTC)
- Usedtobecool I wasn't aware that I would need to notify anyone. Since I was notified I assumed others involved in the article would be notified as well. Am I mistaken about that idea? Kind regards, LorriBrown (talk) 20:19, 10 January 2020 (UTC)
- LorriBrown, you were notified because you created the article. No one else is notified. Usually people who have the article on their watchlist and those who patrol the AFD listing find the deletion discussions and some of them choose to participate. You do not need to notify anyone. I thought it prudent to link the page to read before you do just in case you intended to notify others you've worked with before, since you notified me here. The best thing to do would be to do nothing at all. Except perhaps drop a comment at the AFD itself if you would like to make your case, as, currently, it just points to a ticket not all can see and offers no opinion/rationale for either keep or delete.
