User talk:Lorna Anne Macleod
Welcome!
[edit]Hello, Lorna Anne Macleod, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.
I noticed that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.
To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.
One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)
In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}}
before the question. Again, welcome! Mutt Lunker (talk) 18:40, 24 November 2020 (UTC)
Hi Lorna Anne Macleod! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia – it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. Hello, Lorna Anne Macleod, welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. Your editing pattern indicates that you may be using multiple accounts or coordinating editing with people outside Wikipedia, such as ScottishNationalJazzOrchestra (talk · contribs). Our policy on multiple accounts usually does not allow this, and users who misuse multiple accounts may be blocked from editing. If you operate multiple accounts directly or with the help of another person, please disclose these connections. Thank you. Mutt Lunker (talk) 18:42, 24 November 2020 (UTC)
Please will you pay heed to these friendly warnings regarding inappropriately marking non-minor edits as being minor, using multiple accounts and editing with a conflict of interest. You must also provide reliable, independent sourcing for all material you add. Your tone is often plainly promotional and it is becoming difficult to sift any appropriate elements to your edits from those that are not appropriate, in which case the only reasonable course may be to roll them back in their entirety. I'm sure your intentions are in good faith but you should not continue as you are doing. Mutt Lunker (talk) 21:26, 24 November 2020 (UTC)

[edit]Please do not add or change content without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. 2601:188:180:B8E0:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 21:34, 24 November 2020 (UTC)
Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to add unsourced or poorly sourced content, you may be blocked from editing. 2601:188:180:B8E0:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 21:36, 24 November 2020 (UTC)
You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you remove or blank page content or templates from Wikipedia, as you did at Tommy Smith (saxophonist). Mutt Lunker (talk) 22:37, 24 November 2020 (UTC)
You clearly have paid not a jot of heed to the advice and warnings above regarding the highly problematic nature of your editing. Please revert yourself immediately and, if you feel you have a case, engage each aspect here to lay it out. As already warned, your disruptive behaviour is on course to land you a block. I have reported you for Administrator intervention here. Mutt Lunker (talk) 12:45, 25 November 2020 (UTC)

Request reason:
Could you please reconsider unblocking me. I am married to Tommy Smith and only trying to assist in making his wiki page more factual by linking citations from various newspapers, and rewriting the text so it is more neutral, and using reliable sources connected with quotations. This process does and will take a long time to edit as his career spans many decades, and I want to be factual. If this is inappropriate, I do apologise. What is the best way to update his wiki page? Should we ask fans to edit the page?
Decline reason:
This is not what you were doing. You were violating WP:COI and WP:PROMO. Unlike other sites (see WP:NOT), we aren't interested in you doing this. And no, fans should not be editing the page, either. Yamla (talk) 14:09, 25 November 2020 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
