Copyright problems with Lorenzo DeStefano
[edit]Hello. Concerning your contribution, Lorenzo DeStefano, please note that Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted text or images obtained from other web sites or printed material, without the permission of the author(s). As a copyright violation, Lorenzo DeStefano appears to qualify for deletion under the speedy deletion criteria. Lorenzo DeStefano has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message.
If you believe that the article or image is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the Creative Commons Attribution/Share-Alike License (CC-BY-SA) then you should do one of the following:
- If you have permission from the author, leave a message explaining the details at Talk:Lorenzo DeStefano and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
- If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) and CC-BY-SA, under CC-BY-SA, or released into the public domain leave a note at Talk:Lorenzo DeStefano with a link to where we can find that note.
- If you hold the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the CC-BY-SA and GFDL, and note that you have done so on Talk:Lorenzo DeStefano.
However, for textual content, you may simply consider rewriting the content in your own words. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with our copyright policy. Wikipedia takes copyright concerns very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Thank you. —C.Fred (talk) 05:59, 16 August 2009 (UTC)
Please note, however, that even if the text were licensed compatibly, it would still be subject to deletion as blatant advertising. —C.Fred (talk) 05:59, 16 August 2009 (UTC)
Be wary of writing your autobiography
[edit]You should wait for others to write an article about subjects in which you are personally involved, as you did at Lorenzo DeStefano. This applies to articles about you, your achievements, your band, your business, your publications, your website, your relatives, and any other possible conflict of interest.
Creating an article about yourself is strongly discouraged. If you create such an article, it might be listed on articles for deletion. Deletion is not certain, but many feel strongly that you should not start articles about yourself. This is because independent creation encourages independent validation of both significance and verifiability. All edits to articles must conform to Wikipedia:No original research, Wikipedia:Neutral point of view, and Wikipedia:Verifiability.
If you are not "notable" under Wikipedia guidelines, creating an article about yourself may violate the policy that Wikipedia is not a personal webspace provider and would thus qualify for speedy deletion. If your achievements, etc., are verifiable and genuinely notable, and thus suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later. (See Wikipedia:Wikipedians with articles.) Thank you. —C.Fred (talk) 06:00, 16 August 2009 (UTC)
- Please be advised that the account HYPERGRAPHIA (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log), which has been editing on related subjects, has been blocked as a spam-only account. —C.Fred (talk) 15:16, 16 August 2009 (UTC)
