I thought it would amuse those reading about Raymond Loewy that, after designing so many locomotives in life, he happened to design another long after his death through UP's use of his Air Force One livery on UP4141.

It was not my intention to conduct a test nor to be destructive. I find it frustrating that I have not figured out how to contribute to the substance of articles because of my inability to understand the jargon, procedures, and etiquette involved. (For example, I do not know who you are, what your role is, or whether you will see this.) There must be a better way.

I've partially reverted the change now that I understand your intention; your entry seemed to indicate that the locomotive color scheme was applied after President Bush's death (which hasn't ocurred) as a hoax, rather than Loewy's, which it was. Unfortunately, this type of vandalism is seen all to frequently from anonymous IP's. Category placement

I noticed you put in a bunch of the USNS Mission XXX (AO-xx) articles. You had the class directory after the categories. For some reason that fouled up the alphabetic sorting on the category page. Anyway, I've fixed a few and will do the rest in a second, but wanted you to know that the only thing that goes below categories is a stub.--J Clear 02:16, 9 September 2006 (UTC)

Transcontinental Railroad

Please do not revert my edits to Transcontinental railroad without providing a reason for your belifs. I am perfectly prepared to discuss the merits of the railroad you suggest is transcontinental in a rational fashion, and in my edit summary have given the reason why I edited the page. I assume the previous edits you refer to were made under this anon IP address (86.10.51.14)? In the future I suggest that you discuss potentially controversial changes on an article's talk page first. As you have an established user account you may also want to take the time to sign in rather than posting anonymously. The edit summary "A railroad confined to California cannot be considered transcontinental" leads me to believe that you lack the proper background to delete material from the subject article in the first place: Santa Fe: Railroad Gateway to the West (Duke), San Diego & Arizona: The Impossible Railroad (Hanft), and Rails of the Silver Gate (Dodge) — just to name a few notable works on the subject — all refer to Spreckel's goal in constructing the SD&A as being to establish a direct transcontinental rail link to San Diego. I've expanded the text in the relevant articles to avoid similar confusion on the part of other readers, and in the hope of bringing this issue to a close.--Lord Kinbote 06:10, 11 September 2006 (UTC)

The message that you left me, which is at User_talk:Wj32, was that I was experimenting with that page. But actually all I did was try revert the vandalism after Luna Satin had reverted the page. Then it decided to revert to the vandalised version. Sorry.

Pirate Buchar

I'd love to know if your sources do consistently refer to Bouchard as Buchar (which sounds like the spanish-ization of the French surname, anyway). At least in Argentina, I've never heard something like that. Thanks in advance, User:Ejrrjs says What? 22:39, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

California Gold Rush GA/FA status

GA status has been graciously granted to the California Gold Rush article, and if it would be possible, I'd like to tinker with the article for another week or so, and get some additional voices involved, before considering an FA application. In addition, San Francisco was just the FA, and I'm not sure another California-themed FAC would be a good idea quite so soon. Any thoughts?NorCalHistory 22:40, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

I've been keeping up with the development of the article on and off, I don't think much work will be required to make it an FAC. I'll try to give it a once-over this weekend.
