User talk:Lord Bob
A note to those posting regarding image deletions: my image deletions date from the pre-free use paranoia era on Wikipedia, back when people believed that good encyclopaedias require content. As they are indefensible in light of current policy, I shall never attempt to mount a defense for them, and as I have increasingly disappeared from Wikipedia editing for various reasons (such as this one!), I'm not all that active anyway. While I appreciate the need to respect form and post to my talk page on the subject, don't seriously expect a reply unless something interesting or novel comes up. Lord Bob 15:37, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Message regarding your use of the No Multi License Template
[edit]In case you are not aware, the Wikimedia Foundation has proposed that the copyright licensing terms on the wikis operated by the WMF – including Wikipedia – be changed to include the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike (CC-BY-SA) license in addition to the current GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) as allowed by version 1.3 of the GFDL. The community has approved this change with 75.8% in favor, and on June 15, 2009, the change will take effect.
You currently have {{NoMultiLicense}} on your user or user talk page, which states that your edits are licensed under the GFDL only. On or before June 15, this template will be changed to reflect Wikipedia's new licensing terms. If you accept the licensing change, you do not need to do anything (and feel free to remove this message); if you do not accept it, we regret that you will no longer be able to contribute to the encyclopedia. Please join the discussion at Wikipedia:Village pump (policy)#NoMultiLicense template if you have any comments.

You and Colbert
[edit]Hi; I noticed your name on the Wikimedia Canada listing and thought I'd let you know, in case you didn't already, that Stephen Colbert mentioned you on his show the other night, along with other members of the Wikimedia ... Council? It was to do with whatever's going on with Scientology vs. Wikipedia right now.Skookum1 (talk) 13:47, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
Unreferenced BLPs
[edit]Hello Lord Bob! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 2 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to insure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 329 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:
- Bernard Glieberman - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL
- Adam Braidwood - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Orphaned non-free image File:Ajhl.png
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Ajhl.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
PLEASE NOTE:
- I am a bot, and will therefore not be able to answer your questions.
- I will remove the request for deletion if the file is used in an article once again.

[edit]Hi. When you recently edited Craig Dalrymple, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Colin Miller (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Minoru Park
[edit]Thanks v. much for your addition to Minoru. That's the sort of info that topic specialist editors like me would never bother to research. Nice to know that the old boy's name lives on. Tigerboy1966 19:05, 4 January 2013 (UTC)

Russell Teibert is a carpenter

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Stephen Van Rensselaer
[edit]I read with great enjoyment your account of Stephen Van Rensselaer, and how Daniel D. Tompkins devised a way to remove Van Rensselaer from the race of governor by inducing him to become a general during the War of 1812. Great writing! However, with the exception of the 2nd paragraph, this most interesting account lacks citations. Did you use The American Historical Magazine publication to cite this section overall? Were any other sources used? If you have time, could you add the citations? If you are busy I would be more than happy to supply the citations, but I need to know the name of any other sources upon which you drew. Best of regards, Gwillhickers (talk) 21:12, 31 March 2016 (UTC)

The article Sean Fleming (gridiron football) has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Liz Read! Talk! 18:43, 23 February 2022 (UTC)
