Thank you for using VisualEditor and sharing your ideas with the developers.

Hello, Happiest persoN,

The Editing team is asking very experienced editors like you for your help with VisualEditor. The team has a list of top-priority problems, but they also want to hear about small problems. These problems may make editing less fun, take too much of your time, or be as annoying as a paper cut. The Editing team wants to hear about and fix these small things, too.

You can share your thoughts by clicking this link. You may respond to this quick, simple, anonymous survey in your own language. If you take the survey, then you agree your responses may be used in accordance with these terms. This survey is powered by Qualtrics and their use of your information is governed by their privacy policy.

More information (including a translateable list of the questions) is posted on wiki at mw:VisualEditor/Survey 2015. If you have questions, or prefer to respond on-wiki, then please leave a message on the survey's talk page.

Thanks for uploading File:Antarctica - Empire of the Penguin Blueroom.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. New deal for page patrollers

[edit]

Hi Lonely Explorer,

In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.

Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.

Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on G-Series requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://gseriesbd.net/home/cms/1. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Boss 2 and Abdul Aziz

[edit]

Hi there, when you removed this content with the explanation "Abdul Aziz's name isn't found in any Indian media", was your justification that Aziz's name has to appear in Indian trades? Because that seems like a bizarrely arbitrary qualification. It would see that if any reliable source from Bangladesh made the claim that Aziz was involved, it would be suitable for inclusion. While I'm not familiar with Bangladeshi references, I do see several that describe Boss 2 as co-directed by Aziz.[1][2][3] Thoughts? Cyphoidbomb (talk) 15:38, 5 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Cyphoidbomb, Thanks for your comment. Please allow me to explain. There has been controversies going on with the issue. Though it's said it's a joint production film, but there are huge discrimination regarding cast and production, which doesn't follow joint production film policies. A large number of artists are from India and only two artists from Bangladesh, including a supporting actress. Abdul Aziz is actually a film producer and the owner of Jaaz Multimedia. His name is included as the co-director in Bangladesh only to make the people of Bangladesh believe that he is also involved in direction. On the other hand, in India, there is no single mention about him, that he co-directed the film along with Baba Yadav. If the fact is true, there should be the same news in both country's media but it's not. Lonely Explorer (talk) 05:19, 6 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I appreciate your response. Where is this controversy taking place? Got any articles about this? Also, generally speaking, a film's onscreen credits (or a trailer) would be sufficient as proof of this sort of thing. Here in a trailer, at a verified Jaaz Multimedia YouTube channel, Aziz is credited as co-director. That would be sufficient proof for any film article. Regards, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 15:21, 6 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your reply. There are lots of news regarding the issue in Bengali as well as English language newspapers. Please go the links [4] [5] you've given me and read the entire news, they've also mentioned the on going controversy. Here is more [6] [7] [8]. Now please watch the trailer as well [9] released by the Indian production company. Lead actor Jeet owns Grassroot Entertainment.[1]At the end of the trailer you won't find the credit of Abdul Aziz. Both the trailers were released on the same day. His credit was included in the Bangladeshi version only.
I don't understand what your objection is, though. A trailer, released by Jaaz, which you say Aziz owns, credits him as a co-director. Are you saying that Aziz is erroneously crediting himself as a co-director? This seems like a really bizarre thing to stonewall, particularly when I don't see any indication in the links you've provided that there's a controversy about whether or not Aziz is a co-director. Did I miss it? There might be problems with the casting and an imbalance between Indian actors and Bangladeshi actors, but how does that impact whether or not Aziz is a co-director? What am I missing? Cyphoidbomb (talk) 16:14, 6 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, i failed to make you understand what i wanted to say. Abdul Aziz has been criticized for his biased activities. But i can't prove that he isn't a director but it's a judgement followed by the previous joint production films co-produced by Jazz Multimedia. In every case, Abdul Aziz is credited as co-director in Bangladeshi version trailer and but not even mentioned in Indian version trailer. This is perhaps to make the Bangladeshi audiences believe, that there is equality in joint-production. Why both countries' media don't publish the same information?

There have been violation of joint production policies over the past years. Tollywood film industry has been struggling due to the aggression of Bollywood and it's huge popularity among the audiences. Mainstream commercial Hindi films are dominating over the Bengali films released in West Bengal. On the other hand, Bangladesh's Dhallywood film industry was also losing popularity among the audiences because of producing low-quality films in the 2000s. In that time, Commercial Tollywood films became more popular among the people of Bangladesh (they used to watch on television and web). But releasing any Indian film in theatres in Bangladesh isn't permitted by the Govt. Then both industry came into agreement to produce more joint production films for mutual benefit. But the consequences aren't satisfactory. Lonely Explorer (talk)

Here is a news [10]published in one of the leading Bengali language newspaper, where it talks about the director issue for another Jazz Multimedia co-produced film. You may not understand Bengali.

The file File:Desha - The leader film cover.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-free album cover being used in a decorative manner in Desha: The Leader#Soundtrack. Non-free album cover art is generally allowed to be used for primary identification purposes in stand-alone articles about albums, but its use in other articles is generally only allowed when the cover art itself is the subject of sourced critical commentary as explained in WP:NFC#cite_note-3 and the context for non-free use required by WP:NFCC#8 is evident. There is no such commentary for this particular album cover anywhere in the article, and the use of soundtrack album cover art in articles about films or TV programs is generally not allowed for this reason as explained in WP:FILMSCORE.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

Hi! The subject template is a good one. But can you increase it's scope to include maybe all Category:Fictional Bengali people? The template can be moved to a different name as well post that. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {Talk / Edits} 07:05, 8 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Shihab Shaheen, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Kona. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

DS Alert

[edit]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Notice

The article Eli Ostreicher has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This article was speedied but I thought PROD was more appropriate. The deletion rationale was "advertising and self-promotion".

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Liz Read!
