Hello, LoneWolf1992, and thanks for your contributions to Wikipedia!

I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you worked on, Australian Motorist Party, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

It helps to explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you have any questions, feel free to ask on the Help Desk. Thanks again for contributing! JamesBWatson (talk) 10:59, 21 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • You posted a message to my talk page about the proposed deletion of Australian_Motorist_Party. I will give you some information that I hope will help. (You may have noticed that on my talk page I say I will answer questions there. Usually I do so, to avoid fragmenting discussions, but in this case I think it will be more helpful to you if the information is on your talk page.)
You say you are wondering what you can add so the article doesn't get deleted. That may not be the best question to ask first. First, you should ask whether the party satisfies Wikipedia's notability guidelines. If it does, then the links I give below will, I hope, help you to know what to add to show that it does. However, if the subject does not satisfy the notability guidelines, then unfortunately it is not suitable to be the topic of an article. An article on a notable subject may be rewritten so as to make the notability more evident, but no amount of rewriting of an article will turn a non-notable subject into a notable one. I have, unfortunately, seen many people come to Wikipedia to write an article on a subject they care about, see it deleted, and spend a great deal of time and effort rewriting it to try to avoid the reasons why the first version was deleted, only to see it deleted again, until eventually they leave, frustrated. I hope you won't have that experience. The way to avoid it is to start by being aware of what Wikipedia's notability requirements are, and first try to consider objectively whether or not the subject satisfies those requirements. If it does, then the next step is to assemble sources to show that it does. If not, then the best thing will be to accept that Wikipedia is not the right place to write about the subject.
The sort of thing needed to establish notability is to be found in the notability guidelines. I see that you are fairly new to editing Wikipedia, and I don't know how much (if anything) you know about those guidelines. Unfortunately there are, in my opinion, far too many of them, and they can be bewildering for a newcomer, but I will direct you towards some pages which are relevant in this case. You don't necessarily need to study and learn every detail of all of them, but you should at least have a quick look through them, and read the bits which seem most relevant. If you have not already done so I suggest you start by having a look at Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations, which is not an official guideline, but it summarises a lot of relevant information which would otherwise require looking in numerous places. The actual notability guidelines that are most relevant in this case are the general notabilty guideline and Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies). If you do decide that the subject satisfies the notability guidelines then you should have a look at the guideline on reliable sources.
Since you are fairly new to editing Wikipedia, you probably don't know the complexities of the different mechanisms for deletion of articles. There are three of these: speedy deletion, proposed deletion (commonly abbreviated to "PROD"), and nomination for an Articles for Deletion discussion (commonly abbreviated to "AfD"). In the case of a proposed deletion or "PROD", which is what applies at present to the article you have written, if you don't think the article qualifies for deletion you can simply remove the "proposed deletion" notice from the article. If you do that, that will stop the article from being more or less automatically deleted after a week. However, it is still possible for someone to nominate it as an AfD. If that happens then a page will be created for a discussion as to whether the article should be deleted, in which case you must not remove the AfD notice from the article, but you will be perfectly free to take part in the discussion.
I have made a fairly brief search for information about the Australian Motorist Party, and what I have found makes it look as though it is not notable in Wikipedia's sense. I say that not in order to be discouraging, but to avoid unjustified hopes, to reduce the risk that you will put a lot of work into a doomed task, and suffer severe disappointment. Do first consider the question "does this satisfy the notability guidelines?" and be prepared for the possibility that the answer is "no". If, however, the answer is "yes", then I wish you the best success with the article.
Finally, I will give you another welcome message, which gives rather more links to potentially helpful pages than the one which KennethSides gave you above. Don't try to read them all at one go, but dip into them as and when they become relevant. JamesBWatson (talk) 08:55, 22 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Zhou Enlai

[edit]

Your edit on Zhou Enlai was reverted, I put it back. Phrases like "brainwashing" are clearly POV when stated a fact, even if there is a citation to someone. I removed nonsense that called Mao a "demigod accountable to no one" and that was reverted by the same person who reverted you. I'm glad you have worked to keep the page encyclopedic, as opposed to the person pushing his non-encyclopedic POV on the page. Adelson Velsky Landis (talk) 22:48, 20 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. When you recently edited List of political parties in Germany, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Christian Social Party (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). What did you think about the deletion notice you received?

[edit]

Hi LoneWolf1992,

In November you received a message about either "Nomination for deletion" or "Proposed deletion" of an article you created. I'd like to ask you a few quick questions:

  1. Was the message helpful? Were the instructions clear and easy to follow?
  2. If not, how do you think the message could be improved?
  3. What do you think about the deletion process in general? Do you understand how to contest a deletion?

You can feel free to answer on my talk page or send me your response by email (mpinchuk@wikimedia.org). (I won't quote you or link your answers to your username if you don't feel comfortable with that.) Your feedback is incredibly useful for improving the content of deletion notifications, so please take a minute to think about and answer these questions. Thank you! Thank you!

Thanks for the article

[edit]

Hi LoneWolf1992. Thank you for creating Australian Motorist Party. I had no idea that a political party like that existsed. I've made a number of updates to the article that you can see here. I've included a number of references to various news articles that contain more information. I figured I'd let you know about it in case you ever wanted to work on the article in the future. I also wanted to thank you for putting up with all the wiki-politics that go on around here. From my perspective, the politics here can be very tiresome so I hope thay haven't dampened your enthusiasm for contributing. Thanks again for the article and best of luck to you. 64.40.54.186 (talk) 04:01, 27 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi LoneWolf. I've moved the picture you added down to the Lady Chapel, since I believe that is where the image is from. I've also changed the caption slightly. The figure is St. George and the flag is the symbol of St. George. You are quite right that the flag of England incorporates that of St. George' cross, but in this instance it is the saint's identity not the country's identity that is being established. Is This a Zombie?

[edit]

Your recent editing history at Is This a Zombie? shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Please also see my reply to your request on my talk page. Martin of Sheffield (talk) 11:30, 4 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

When adding links to material on external sites, as you did to List of Gunslinger Girl characters, please ensure that the external site is not violating the creator's copyright. Linking to websites that display copyrighted works is acceptable as long as the website's operator has created or licensed the work. Knowingly directing others to a site that violates copyright may be considered contributory infringement. This is particularly relevant when linking to sites such as YouTube, where due care should be taken to avoid linking to material that violates its creator's copyright. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you believe the linked site is not violating copyright with respect to the material, then you should do one of the following:

  • If the linked site is the copyright holder, leave a message explaining the details on the article Talk page;
  • If a note on the linked site credibly claims permission to host the material, or a note on the copyright holder's site grants such permission, leave a note on the article Talk page with a link to where we can find that note;
  • If you are the copyright holder or the external site administrator, adjust the linked site to indicate permission as above and leave a note on the article Talk page;

If the material is available on a different site that satisfies one of the above conditions, link to that site instead. DragonZero (Talk · Contribs) 02:16, 3 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Greenland

[edit]

I appreciate that your edits are in good faith, however, Greenland is an autonomous country within the Kingdom of Denmark, not a part of Denmark proper, and its parliamentary elections belong on the National Electoral Calendar. This is similar to how Queen Elizabeth II is Queen of the Commonwealth Realms, which encompasses the UK, but also Canada, India, Australia, and other countries -- that doesn't mean Canadian national elections are UK local elections though! I hope this has clarified the subject for you, and good luck in your editing. ^_^ --4idaho (talk) 14:51, 15 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I gave up on editing that I didn't want to get flagged for edit warring though I still contend it shouldn't be there. Canda, India and Australia are independent countries so they do belong there but, Greenland is, as you said, autonomous not independent hence why I removed it. Opting in to VisualEditor

[edit]

As you may know, VisualEditor ("Edit beta") is currently available on the English Wikipedia only for registered editors who choose to enable it. Since you have made 100 or more edits with VisualEditor this year, I want to make sure that you know that you can enable VisualEditor (if you haven't already done so) by going to your preferences and choosing the item, "MediaWiki:Visualeditor-preference-enable". This will give you the option of using VisualEditor on articles and userpages when you want to, and give you the opportunity to spot changes in the interface and suggest improvements. We value your feedback, whether positive or negative, about using VisualEditor, at Wikipedia:VisualEditor/Feedback. Thank you, Whatamidoing (WMF) (talk) 18:27, 11 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. Choke (sports)

[edit]

Hey Lonewolf. I reverted your addition to this article because the cites you provided do not indicate this as a choke. I agree it was a catastrophic fall apart for the Falcons, but it's not ours to decide if it was a choke. If you can find reliable sources that indicate it as a choke, maybe. But, the article shouldn't be a long list of every time a journalist thinks a choke happened. I've considered starting a list article of chokes, to depopulate this article of so many of them. I welcome your thoughts on that? --Hammersoft (talk) 02:59, 5 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

List of active separatist movements in Africa

[edit]

A little quick on the trigger, maybe? Surely there's no need to mention the same separatist state twice. Mikrobølgeovn (talk) 00:02, 7 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, but there was no need to erase what you did. LoneWolf1992 19:03, 7 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I removed a bunch of red links, double mentions and unsourced claims (in particular a highly dubious population figure), while keeping the references. If I removed anything that should have been kept, you could have just re-added it. I can't say I appreciate having constructive edits be treated as vandalism. If you could let me know what you think I left out, I can give it a second try. Regards, Mikrobølgeovn (talk) 00:24, 7 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Right Alliance (Belarus), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Traditionalism (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

If you could stop being a purveyor of right-wing propaganda, that'd be awesome.

LOL. I've been here for a decade and you're new. Don't tell me what to think or to edit. LoneWolf1992 (user talk) 19:22, 3 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Don't misunderstand me. I'm not questioning the majority of your edits, which are of course valid. However, for the instances where you behave like a right-wing editor, you should expect to be treated like one. All I'm saying is don't disseminate falsehoods, to wit; to wit; to wit.

Now, if you've been on Wikipedia for 10 years, surely you must know that by now, which means you're better than these edits. Falsehoods, whether conservative or liberal, don't belong on Wikipedia. At least that point should be indisputable. That is all I'll say on the matter. At the end of the day, you'll do things your way and I'll do things my way, and that's all there is to it.PeaceandKarats (talk) 12:24, 4 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
