Please be aware of Wikipedia:IDOL#Biographies of contestants. There is no evidence that the subject of the article, Uche Ume, has sufficient notability to have his own article. Therefore, under this Wiki policy, Uche Ume should be redirected to the appropriate article relevant to the competition he participated in, and that is the reason for the redirect being established. Thank you. AlasdairGreen27 (talk) 13:27, 23 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Loadedkume, the situation is exactly as I've explained above. The policy of Wikipedia about Pop Idol contestants is very clear; please read Wikipedia:IDOL#Biographies of contestants. If he goes on to have a career after Pop Idol, then he will become sufficiently notable to have his own encyclopedia entry. Has he done anything since the competition that makes him notable? Any CDs or anything similar?

The phrase "finalists" refers to those who either came first (the winner) or second (the runner up), in other words, the last two competing. This does not seem to include your friend Mr Ume. However, I'll leave your article there for now, on the basis that he apparently is working on his debut album. You really should update your article to include relevant information such as this (properly sourced, of course). If you can update the article to show that he is notable independent of the Idol competition, that's fine. AlasdairGreen27 (talk) 16:43, 26 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
