Wikipedia Edit Proposal

The three pages I propose to edit with the username Lmestre were all found within the stub category of Wikipedia. I chose the Jiaojiang River, Manwal and Elibelinde based upon their lack of information and the potential for an expanded Wikipedia page for each. Each of these pages I have been able to find some information that I can cite and put within the pages. The Jiaojiang River flows into the East China Sea. This is the basic information on the page. It also gives with width and length of the river. I would be interested in adding information regarding where this river originates, what wildlife uses this river, any resources for the people that live near the river, and it would be interesting to find what type of sediments are carried through this river. Pictures would help add to the appeal of this page. This is a good page to edit because it is a part of geography.

Manwal is a village in Udhampur. That is the basic information that the Wikipedia page has for this topic. There is a wide variety of information that can be added to this page such as the local geography, climate, information about the people who live there, and the history of the village.

Elibelinde is turkish for hands on hips, it was often used on flat tapestry woven carpets. The Wikipedia page gives a very brief description of Elibelinde. With some research I can help to contribute information regarding more history, where it can be seen today, what museums you can see Elibelinde in and if the practice is still done today. It would be nice to see within the page some photographs that have an actual carpet with this Elibelinde design.

All of these pages need to be expanded within Wikipedia. There is little information on all three topics and with some work these could be quality pages. Lmestre (talk) 04:04, 31 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Before you create an article, make sure you understand what kind of articles are accepted here. Remember: Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and while many topics are encyclopedic, some things are not.

Your instructor or professor may wish to set up a course page, if your class doesn't already have one. It is highly recommended that you place this text: {{Educational assignment}} on the talk page of any articles you are working on as part of your Wikipedia-related course assignment.
