Information icon Hello, I'm Dan Koehl. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Marquis de Sade have been undone because they did not appear constructive. I would like to be made aware of why you consider me to have a personal bias. The first sentence of the page contains the fact that he was an aristocrat, a revolutionary politician, a philosopher, and a writer. While there is no question that his writing and ideas have had more effect on the culture at large than his personal life, I feel that ignoring his sex crimes glorifies him by ignoring the negative things that he did and only show the more "positive" aspects of his life. For someone who spent much of his life sexually violating women, only three mentions of rape in the article, excluding the citations section, seems awfully sparse.

My block notice has not clarified anything about the edit itself. It did say that I was edit warring, but the only reason that I made the edit repeatedly is that users such as you considered it unconstructive. I apologize if I've missed something; I am new to the platform of Wikipedia. I just would like some sort of clarification from you yourself.

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Marquis de Sade. Your edits continue to appear to constitute vandalism and have been automatically reverted.

  • If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Note that human editors do monitor recent changes to Wikipedia articles, and administrators have the ability to block users from editing if they repeatedly engage in vandalism.
  • ClueBot NG makes very few mistakes, but it does happen. If you believe the change you made should not have been considered as unconstructive, please read about it, report it here, remove this warning from your talk page, and then make the edit again.
  • If you need help, please see our help pages, and if you can't find what you are looking for there, please feel free to place {{Help me}} on your talk page and someone will drop by to help.

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Marquis de Sade, you may be blocked from editing. Morphdog (t - c) 00:38, 5 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Marquis de Sade. Materialscientist (talk) 00:49, 5 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon with clock
You have been blocked temporarily from editing for edit warring. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may request an unblock by first reading the guide to appealing blocks, then adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.

During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.
