[edit]

Hello, Livrendon, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Shalor and I work with the Wiki Education Foundation; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Regarding your draft (at User:Livrendon/sandbox), please to stick to WP:MEDRS-compliant sources for medical/health material. For example, we should typically avoid primary sources for medical/health material. See WP:Primary sources and WP:SCHOLARSHIP. Also, peer review is not the same thing as literature review. Please read and study WP:MEDRS. It begins with the following in its introduction: "Ideal sources for biomedical information include: review articles (especially systematic reviews) published in reputable medical journals; academic and professional books written by experts in the relevant fields and from respected publishers; and guidelines or position statements from national or international expert bodies. Primary sources should generally not be used for medical content – as such sources often include unreliable or preliminary information, for example early in vitro results which don't hold in later clinical trials." You should be looking for secondary sources and, to a lesser extent, tertiary sources. You can look on Google Books if that will help. It often helps me. If you haven't looked on PubMed, look on there as well. Flyer22 Reborn (talk) 19:41, 2 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Shalor (Wiki Ed), thanks for cleaning up after this student. Like I stated here, though, the "are more likely to experience a number of psychological issues due to the various experiences of sexism, racism, and homophobia" piece should be supported by a better source. The rest of the material in that paragraph is fine. Flyer22 Reborn (talk) 14:51, 5 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, since the rest of what is stated in that paragraph is supported by the same source, it is best that it is also replaced with a better source. Flyer22 Reborn (talk) 14:54, 5 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
