File permission problem with File:Even_in_My_Dreams_2008.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Even_in_My_Dreams_2008.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MBisanz talk 20:47, 10 July 2009 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Flavio Alves.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Flavio Alves.jpg, which you've sourced to Michael Seto. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

Disambiguation link notification for June 4
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Bernadette Quigley, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Darcy (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:08, 4 June 2019 (UTC)

The article Flu (2020 film) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Film appears to fail the guidelines established under WP:NFILM.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. DonaldD23 talk to me 21:39, 6 February 2022 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image File:Flu, drama film, directed by Nikhail Asnani.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Flu, drama film, directed by Nikhail Asnani.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 03:25, 15 February 2022 (UTC)
I have sent you a note about a page you started
[edit]Hello, LisaSmithNY
Thank you for creating Santos - Skin to Skin.
User:North8000, while examining this page as a part of our page curation process, had the following comments:
Good start. IMO an edge case regarding wp:notability but I marked it as reviewed. The main synopsis appears to be artist-generated content which the festival just put on their website. Most of the sources merely mention it. Needs some sources that cover it in depth and then developing article content from there. Happy editing!

Speedy deletion nomination of Oyate
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Oyate requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.bigskyfilmfest.org/festival/films-2022-view/oyate_2022/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. PRAXIDICAE🌈 18:19, 11 August 2022 (UTC)
August 2022
[edit]Hello LisaSmithNY. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Oyate, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.
Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:LisaSmithNY. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=LisaSmithNY|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. PRAXIDICAE🌈 16:31, 12 August 2022 (UTC)
- Fair question, but just to clarify things, I do NOT get paid for writing a page for films, but I want to contribute to make sure that films done by marginalized and overlooked communities (lgbtq+, native Americans, seniors, Latinos, immigrants, etc) are highlighted on wikipedia. I also write independent reviews for films, if I like a specific film and have free time. LisaSmithNY talk 16:55, 12 August 2022 (UTC)
Ways to improve Oyate
[edit]Hello, LisaSmithNY,
Thank you for creating Oyate.
I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:
@Dr vulpes: Also pinging Dr vulpes, who worked on the article. This is IMO borderline on notability, which decides what articles are suitable to be included on Wikipedia. The general guideline (WP:GNG) requires at least two independent, reliable sources that constitute significant coverage. This has 5 reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, with Film Threat probably RS, but the rest are iffy, with some resembling blogs/self-published sources. Compare the film notability guideline- WP:NFILM criteria 1 is similar to the general one but requires reviews from nationally well-known critics; however, these critics are not well known, and the websites are not from major newspapers. Further, the film has won awards, though these lack Wikipedia articles and are too minor to pass the WP:NFILM criteria 3, which requires the win of a major award. Still, thanks for your work!
The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|VickKiang}}
