(My MTTM section)

[edit]

Married to the MOB, also known as MTTM or simply MOB, is a women’s streetwear clothing line started by Leah McSweeney in 2004. The line is inspired by New York streets and clubs and rocks a chic, but not-to-be-messed with attitude that attracts style-confident females everywhere.

Help me

[edit]

{{helpme}} what do i need to do to make this less like an ad and more like an article? what stays and what should do? are there too many links and/or websites?

If you're referring to the article below, I would start by reviewing our external links guidelines. - Jarry1250 (t, c) 16:17, 5 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Help request

[edit]

{{help me}}

I went through all of the sources below. does it seem better? can I still link in the text below about the publications she has been in? anything else in the text that should be changed?

Hi there! First, don't panic...I haven't removed the article, just moved it to User:Lipprint66/Leah McSweeney.
I will respond further soon, and try to explain and help. Cheers,  Chzz  ►  19:42, 5 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
First, most important - before you work on creating your first article, I strongly recommend that you work on some existing ones first, to get the hand of things. I will post a 'welcome' message below, which might help with this, and some suggestions on articles to edit.
Next, regarding the article;
  • Do you have a 'conflict of interest' with the organization? If so, please read WP:BFAQ. Following that, you should not actually create the article yourself, but you could - after getting it into shape - submit it in articles for creation.
  • Next, please remove any external links within the body. External links should only be used as references, or - an with certain strict conditions - in an external links section.
  • All the facts in the document will need to be referenced to reliable sources. This means newspaper articles, books, and that kind of thing. Primary sources (such as the organisations website) are not acceptable. The articles that you have already mentioned as references may serve as sources, but they need to be used as inline referencing. Please see my own guide to this, in user:chzz/help/ref.
I hope that this helps. best wishes,  Chzz  ►  20:38, 5 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome

[edit]

Hi, Lipprint66. This is NOT some automated message...it's from a real person. You can talk to me right now. Welcome to Wikipedia! I noticed you've just joined, and wanted to give you a few tips to get you started. If you have any questions, please talk to us. The tips below should help you to get started. Best of luck!  Chzz  ►  20:38, 5 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

ようこそ
  • You don't need to read anything - anybody can edit; just go to an article and edit it. Be Bold, but please don't put silly stuff in - it will be removed very quickly, and will annoy people.
  • Ask for help. Talk to us live, or edit this page, put {{helpme}} and describe what help you need. Someone will reply very quickly - usually within a few minutes.
  • Edit existing articles, before you make your own. Look at some subjects that you know about, and see if you can make them a bit better. For example, Wikipedia:Cleanup#2009.
  • When you're ready, read about Your first article. It should be about something well-known, and it will need references.

Good luck with editing; please drop me a line some time on my own talk page.

There's lots of information below. Once again, welcome to the fantastic world of Wikipedia!

Finding articles to edit

[edit]

You might be interested in the cleanup campaign, or helping out with peer reviews. You could browse the many projects, look at the newest articles, or maybe just something random. We have a list of requested articles, requests for feedback, and a huge backlog of tasks.

Hopefully, this will give you some ideas.

Further helpme request

[edit]

{{helpme}}I followed your suggestions and referenced in line and got rid of the external resources. Please let me know if this can be posted as of yet. Thanks

I've moved your request down here, to the end of your page. Please create a new section at the end to start new conversations.
Also, please remember to "sign" your comments by putting ~~~~ - this will put your name, and the date/time.  Chzz  ►  16:15, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I have again moved your prospective article to a user subpage. Please use subpages for creating articles, rather than your user page.
You now have subpages called User:Lipprint66/Leah_McSweeney and User:Lipprint66/Leah_McSweeney2. You can make as many such pages as you like - for example, User:Lipprint66/Test, User:Lipprint66/mypage, User:Lipprint66/sausages, etc.
Those links will be red because the pages do not yet exist - but you could click on them and make the pages. If you work on separate subpages like that, it makes it a lot easier to follow what is going on. Keep your talk page for discussions - and provide a link to the page you are discussing, for example by putting [[User:Lipprint66/Leah_McSweeney2]] - which appears like this; User:Lipprint66/Leah_McSweeney2
I will take a look at the article now, and report back here very soon.  Chzz  ►  16:20, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'd go for it & post it now. Trafford09 (talk) 16:50, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
BUT, could you please hang on a couple of minutes before you do ... Trafford09 (talk) 17:05, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict Of Interest?

[edit]

Hi. A thought just occurred. This shouldn't be a big deal, but I just need to ask you whether there is any Conflict Of Interest (COI) involved here. Will explain. More shortly. Trafford09 (talk) 17:12, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Well, basically I need to ask you to please tell me whether you are related in any way, to the company or products or people mentioned in the article? If so, we can still get round it fine, but do please let me know. If you have a COI, then please take a look at WP:BESTCOI and - following that practice, I can make the article live on your behalf. OK? Please reply here in this section, if you would. Bye for now, Trafford09 (talk) 17:28, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Lipprint66 (talk) 17:38, 8 June 2009 (UTC) I am involved, but knew nothing about the company before writing this. I did all of the research on my own to try and accurately portray the company, which I feel is pretty neutral since my ties are barely 2 weeks. When looking at the guidelines, I thought it was ok since my work is not being compensated. Where do I go from here? -lipprint 66[reply]

Well that's no problem but, to be on the safe side, best thing is for me to make it live on your behalf, if you've no objection?
Of course, once it's live, other editors will do with it as they see fit - we can't do much about that. Hopefully there won't be the same objection as first time around, and minor alterations will see the article launch relatively smoothly (famous last words!).
Oh also, you know you were speaking to user chzz earlier on? Well, he's done a better photo for you to use, if you like it.
It's in here. If you'd like to use it, you'd be best to edit it there, and add more details into the 'Infobox'.
What do you reckon? Trafford09 (talk) 17:55, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Lipprint66 (talk) 18:13, 8 June 2009 (UTC) Please make it live on my behalf---wonderful. I do like that photo better and the sidebar component. How do I include that with the original article? -lipprint66[reply]

Including it with the original's a matter of coping the 'infobox' from chzz's page. Want me to do it?
Also, it's entirely up to you, but if you know any of the following and are happy for all and sundry to see them, wold you care to add any extra details to these:

birth_name = |residence = |nationality = |ethnicity = |citizenship = |other_names = |years_active = |home_town = |salary = |networth = |height = |weight = |title = |religion = |spouse = |partner = |children = |parents = |relations = |awards = |signature = |footnotes =

Finally, when signing with the four tildes ~ ~ ~ ~. please put these after your text, not before (just a WP convention). Trafford09 (talk) 18:25, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

For now, I'll just keep what is there. If you can copy, that'd be great. I just keep confusing myself. Once that's on, will it be for public view/made live? Lipprint66 (talk) 18:35, 8 June 2009 (UTC)-lipprint66[reply]

Okey dokey. I'll do it. I'll keep you informed here, but don't panic if the odd hour or two pass by. Trafford09 (talk) 19:05, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Leah McSweeney now live again

[edit]

Hiya. I've toned-down the Leah McSweeney article and made it live again. I've made it less like an advert, so fingers crossed that it will now be acceptable to other editors-at-large.

Please see also the article's Talk page. If other editors have any concerns or queries, I would expect them to raise them on that page, so you may want to also add that page to your list of 'watched' pages.

I've also added comments into your section at the Requests_for_feedback page.

BTW, I wonder if you've noticed these comments added by some other editor(s) ?

In particular, please note that somebody had deleted the jeans pic as a possible copyright violation, so I've had to remove that pic from the article on Leah.

I hope you're content with the changes. Of course you - and indeed any other editor whatsoever - are fully entitled to make any changes you see fit now. However, please be mindful of the WP:COI guidelines. It's possible that the revised article may settle in more smoothly if the only edits to it by us, in the near future, are minor ones.

Please add any comments or queries you may have either here on your talk page or here on my own. Cheers, Trafford09 (talk) 10:25, 9 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
