License tagging for File:Penguins in the Sky-Asahiyama Zoo.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:Penguins in the Sky-Asahiyama Zoo.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.
For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 03:05, 21 August 2010 (UTC)
File copyright problem with File:Snow_Prince_Movie_Poster.jpg
Thank you for uploading File:Snow_Prince_Movie_Poster.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Chris G Bot (talk) 00:20, 23 August 2010 (UTC)
SYOG medal winners
Hi. I've hidden (not removed) your recent edits for now. Please do not simply copy and paste the medal summaries from the individual sport pages. Furthermore, taking the lead from the Beijing medal winners article, there should not be a separation of male, female and team events into different subsections, which is another reason not to directly copy and paste. Please follow the specified format based on the past articles. Cheers, Strange Passerby (talk) 04:36, 6 September 2010 (UTC)
Flag icons in film infoboxes
Hi. I see you re-added the Japanese flag icon to Kinako (film), but if you read the instructions at Template:Infobox film, you will see that flag icons are discouraged in this (and most other) infoboxes, and the country name on its own is just fine. I hope this clears up any problems with your future edits. Thanks. --DAJF (talk) 01:51, 7 September 2010 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image File:250px-School Days with a Pig-p2.jpg

- Lionratz, this block is not behaviorally based. Understand that you are not blocked because of what you are doing at Wikipedia. However, the block in place is a global block enacted at the Foundation level and affecting all Wikimedia sites. Also, the IP address you are using appears to be a confirmed open proxy. Can you comment as to why you are editing through open proxies and not your own native IP address? --Jayron32 05:32, 30 November 2010 (UTC)
- You are currently unblocked! Wifione ....... Leave a message 16:54, 30 November 2010 (UTC)
- Wifione does seem to be correct. I've just checked, and I can't find any global blocks on the IP address you last used, and I don't see anything to indicate that your IP address is still an open proxy. From what I can see, you should be able to edit. If you still can't, please request unblocking using the provided "unblock-auto" template as Mechamind mentioned. Speedy deletion nomination of Pages I Created or Helping out with
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and the page that you created has been or soon will be deleted. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. ttonyb (talk) 05:08, 15 January 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of A Tale of Mari and Three Puppies
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on A Tale of Mari and Three Puppies requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. The article Inu to Anata no Monogatari has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Not Notable. See Wikipedia:Notability_(film)#General_principles
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. GeorgeLouis (talk) 05:50, 25 January 2011 (UTC)

Your contributed article, 4:30 (Film)
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, 4:30 (Film). First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - 4:30. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will to continue helping improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at 4:30 - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.
If you think that the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Ravendrop (talk) 21:25, 1 February 2011 (UTC)

Snow Prince GAN
For other editors to take a look you could consider asking a few from WP:FILM, especially if they have experience with GA/FAs. You can also leave a request at Wikipedia:WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors/Requests to have an independent editor take a look at it. Usually, when an article is nominated at WP:GAN, it takes around two months for it to be reviewed (although it could be reviewed mere minutes after you post it). While the article is waiting to be reviewed, you can still continue to improve it. I also developed a guide for new nominators, which can be found here. This should hopefully be helpful for your first nomination. If you encounter any questions during the review, please let me know and I'll do my best to help out. --Happy editing! Snow Prince review
You are welcome. Your question about plagiarism and copyright violations led me to try out Copyscape, which I had never used before. You can see the results here. Part of the plot summary may be a violation, although sometimes it turns out that other sites have copied Wikipedia rather than the other way around. Just make sure that the Wikipedia text is written in your own words rather than lifted from elsewhere. The main way to avoid plagiarism and copyright problems is to look at every source. This is sometimes hard to do if other editors have made significant contributions sourced to books, journals, or manuscripts that are hard to find. As for translations, I don't know. I would not be able to detect problems in most cases of translation, and the aid of a bilingual editor might be necessary to be really sure.
The dead link will have to be fixed somehow. I tried the Wayback Machine, but it's not working at the moment. If the source article has never been archived, you can try to find another reliable source for the claim, or you can delete the claim. For future reference, if you think an important online source will disappear, you can create your own archive via WebCite. See the WebCite page subsection title "How do I use WebCite® as a (citing) author to archive webpages I want to cite?". I have linked from that subsection to WebCite's "archive" page, where I just filled in the URL and my e-mail address in the form. This seems to do the job, although I have not yet needed any of my archives created in this way. I tend to archive really important sources that would cause major WP:V problems in my articles if they disappeared. In the past, I lost a couple of really important sources to linkrot, and it's a big headache. Finetooth (talk) 17:08, 3 October 2011 (UTC)
- I know of no alternative to Copyscape except checking directly, which is what I usually do when I'm a major contributor. As to the GA prospects and the overall condition of the article, I have to give those further thought. I'm snowed under with real-life obligations at the moment, but I'll take another look at Snow Prince as soon as I can. Finetooth (talk) 19:44, 7 October 2011 (UTC)
- I got a chance this afternoon to read the article again. I made a few minor changes, and I have these suggestions: (1) Nothing should be redlinked more than once. Shintaro Morimoto is redlinked four times (counting the one in the first infobox), for example. Some of the others are redlinked at least twice. (2) In the lead: "the scriptwriter for the film Departures. This film was the debut role... " - Two problems. A film is not a role, and "film" in the second sentence might be misunderstood to mean Departures. (3) In the "Filming" section: "The railway tracks featured in the film was taken at the old location... " - This does not make sense as written. Perhaps "The railway tracks in the movie are those of the old... "? By "old" do you mean "former"? Are these tracks not used any more? (4) I would delete the "Further reading" section since in contains only one item, which is already linked to in the main text. I'm reluctant to say that the article is ready for GAN partly because of the remaining small prose glitches but mostly because I don't know enough about film articles to review them at GAN. However, you are working in the right direction, and the article is better now than when I first read it. Finetooth (talk) 23:13, 7 October 2011 (UTC)
My 2 cents
On AGF plagiarism in Template:Did you know nominations/Grounds for divorce (or any other DYK nom): I wouldn't just AGF; rather, I'd do a spot check on one or two sentences, and pass/fail the nom on that issue. It is my understanding that plagiarism was an issue for some past DYKs, and we should not just wave it through on AGF. Thank you for your other comments on that review, --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk to me 02:53, 8 October 2011 (UTC)
- While the article does not link to Google Books, the sources uses (now, note, multiple ones) are most likely scanned, and you could check on Google Books if the sentences produce any hits or not. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk to me 15:42, 9 October 2011 (UTC)
Tenshi no Koi
Thanks for helping on this article. I have some questions though.
- Why did you change the name in bold to the English title, instead of matching the Japanese article title?
- In the last sentence of the production section, ref 6 is repeat of ref 4 and does not seem to support the roles for Shosuke Tanihara. In fact even Tanihara's wiki article does not mention those roles.
- Is it really okay to have so many foreign language refs in an English langauge article?
Oh, I didn't know the article needed to be as well developed as this to qualify for DYK, after looking at some of the other ones that had actually made it already. BollyJeff || talk 12:24, 10 October 2011 (UTC)
- I am sorry, it is 5 and 6 that appear to be the same, and I still don't see those other roles listed there; maybe it's problem with the translation, do you speak Japanese? If you are sure they are listed there, then okay, but does it really matter what he was in before? Also, why did you totally remove the literal translation of "Tenshi no Koi": "Angel Love" or "Angel's Love" from the article? I think it should be there somewhere. If I am not mistaken, "My Rainy Days" is the English title, but not the translation. Yes, I do appreciate your help. Thank you. BollyJeff || talk 13:09, 10 October 2011 (UTC)

Film refs
I remove the film not because it didn't have any refs in the list (that would be silly), but because I looked for refs in the usual sites and couldn't find any. Next time I come across a film I can't find refs for, I'll leave you a message. Happy editing :)--Cattus talk 12:44, 14 October 2011 (UTC)

You Are the Apple of My Eye
Is this generally how you ask for help and show appreciation to total strangers? First, you tell them what YOU are planning to do and please please please come and help me in achieving MY goal. You then criticise them for their failings as it might jeopardise YOUR plan. As far as self-absorbed goes, you take the prize mate. If this is how you treat people in the real world then good luck to you. It is precisely because of people like you (and there are a lot of them on Wikipedia) that I have not been a regular for years. Do whatever you want with YOUR nomination, succeed or fail. It is not my business. You are the editor, I am sure you will manage. Thankyou once again for showing yet again how arrogant Singaporeans are.BringItOn TheAteam (talk) 08:25, 1 November 2011 (UTC)
From up on Poppy Hill
Hello, Lionratz.
First, I'm Blitz Lutte 2. Previously I was Blitz Lutte. I'm from Spain and maybe my English language is very basic. Excuse me if you don't understand my words or you have difficulties of understanding my English language. But, I'm going to say the reasons to you for that I think the poster should be at page. Yes, it's a new poster but the first theatrical poster, in a beginning, it was going to be a draft of the definitive poster. Finally, the first poster was. However, later another poster was created more realized than the first to be able to promote better the film. I think that two poster should be in the From up on Poppy Hill. The main poster is very austere and it's possible to say that one is the draft and other one is the definitive poster and that the above mentioned poster is the poster for his international promotion because I think that, like you have put in the page, in France the new poster will be in use. In Ponyo page there are two posters. One is Japanese poster and the other is US poster. I don't know if I talk with you good in English but I expect your understanding. Thank you so much.--Blitz Lutte 2 (talk) 11:47, 1 November 2011 (UTC)

I see that you failed our groups DYK nomination. I have a question. Since this is a learning experience for my group and I, is there anyway you would reconsider giving us that nomination? we still plan on adding things to enhance our page. I wasn't sure how we got the nomination the last time and how we failed this time. We did add stuff to the page since then. --Nas132 (talk) 05:04, 8 November 2011 (UTC)
Thank you so much for all your helpful advice! You cleared up alot of my questions. I greatly apperciate it. I took a look at the FA class link. Could you give us any helpful adivce on how to improve this article to get to the FA class. If I contacted you when our group is close to being finished would you be willing to nominate us for that? --Nas132 (talk) 14:41, 8 November 2011 (UTC)

Since you were a part of the WikiGuides project, I thought I'd give you a heads-up about a new way you can help/mentor newbies on en.wiki: we've recently released a feature called the Feedback Dashboard, a queue that updates in real time with feedback and editing questions from new registered contributors who have attempted to make at least one edit. Steven Walling and I are putting together a task force for experienced Wikipedians who might be interested in monitoring the queue and responding to the feedback: details are here at Wikipedia:Feedback Dashboard. Guild of Copy Editors November 2011 backlog elimination drive report
Greetings from the Guild of Copy Editors November 2011 Backlog elimination drive! We would like to thank all who participated in this drive. Here is the end-of-drive report.
There were 48 editors who signed-up for this drive, of which 35 participated. Thank you to everyone who helped reduce the size of the backlog!
During the drive, we reduced the backlog by 232 articles, or by about 6%. This is a two percent increase from our September drive, when we copy edited 4% of the backlog. We were successful in our primary goal of clearing the oldest three months—March, April, and May 2010—from the queue. Thanks to all who helped copy edit these difficult articles. Thus far we have reduced the copy edit backlog by 5086 articles, or by about 61%. End-of-drive results and barnstar information can be found here.
The term of our second tranche of coordinators has run out, and we will be accepting nominations from December 5, 00:01 UTC to December 15, 23:59 UTC. If you or any other member of the Guild of Copy Editors wishes to be a coordinator, add your name to this page along with a statement describing why you believe you should be a coordinator for the Guild. You must be able to commit to a six month term. Thanks! Once again, thank you for participating in the Guild's November 2011 Backlog elimination drive! Our next drive will be in January, and we hope to see you there! Your drive coordinators – Diannaa, Chaosdruid, The Utahraptor, Slon02 and SMasters |
