Linguistics article
[edit]Hi. As I've indicated here, I share some of your feelings as to how the Linguistics article has recently been edited (at least I think I do — apologies if I misunderstood your point). Accordingly, I've made considerable changes (as you can see here), though in many cases this just brings the article back to something like how it looked before Supriyya's edits. Please have a look over it and see what you can do to improve it. This article still needs much work! garik (talk) 20:05, 10 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Hi, Although everybody is welcome to make constructive edits but we would like to ask you to discuss major edits in talk page before applying them in the article. Your recent edits to Trique were reverted. Thank you for your contributions. Parvazbato59 (talk) 15:46, 26 March 2009 (UTC)
Your Proposed Changes to Trique
[edit]Hi, I have responded you on Trique. Regards Parvazbato59 (talk) 23:01, 26 March 2009 (UTC)
- By the way, if you are familliar with a new pronunciation of the word "Trique", please add it to the current pronunciation as: "The Trique or Triqui or ...". I forgot to mention this. Since this is in your field, so you know more than anybody else. If you have a reference for it, it is best to give one, but if you don't, that's fine, it is always good to list all possible pronounciations. Thanks Parvazbato59 (talk) 23:14, 26 March 2009 (UTC)
Hi Lingboy,
I assume the Trique pronunciation was in English? That's how I formatted it. BTW, it's generally a good idea to place {{IPA| ... }} around any IPA. That forces IE to display it properly. Otherwise many of our readers will be unable to see it. There are also several IPA-xx templates, where xx is the iso code of the language, that link to IPA keys specifically for that language, like {{IPA-es}} for Spanish and {{IPA-en}} (sorry, no Trique! for that you can use {{IPA-all}}, linking to a generic IPA key). Not all the keys are in the greatest shape, but that will improve over time.
I'm glad to see your opinion on Hyman's take of pitch accent. That's been on my to-do list for ages, and I've only made minimal changes to the articles in question. People have objected to some of those changes without enough info to be convincing. Also, I finally merged tonal language, though crudely. kwami (talk) 19:34, 8 September 2009 (UTC)
I've left a comment about the recent change you made to the phonetics article on that article's talk page. Regards, Emw2012 (talk) 13:55, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
Request for review
[edit]Hi, could you please review the article Syntactic Structures and make changes as you see fit? Thanks in advance. --Zaheen (talk) 23:14, 17 September 2009 (UTC)
- I took a look at it. My general impression is that it is good, but it might be fitting to include more actual substance from the book than just people's impressions of it. So, some examples might be suitable. While I have a PhD in linguistics and know about syntax, I'm not a syntactician. It might be more fitting to find a syntactician on wikipedia to do this. Please let me know if you are successful with this.Lingboy (talk) 10:50, 18 September 2009 (UTC)
