The Great Game - lead
[edit]Hello Lindknecht, if you click above top left where the tab says User page, it will open up a screen that you should Save, as it creates a blank User page for you. The benefit of that is that another editor can "call you" by your user name to get your attention, a message will be delivered to you, which you will find a convenient facility over the next few months.
Wikipedia welcomes but does not guide its new users very well. However, there are 3 policies that I urge you to spend a half of an hour reading: citing WP:CITE reliable WP:RELIABLE sources that are verifiable WP:VERIFY. When you applied for a login, you agreed to be bound by Wikipedia's rules and guidelines, and these are 3 key ones. I reverted your edits because they had no citations; I would do the same for any edit done by any editor on any page that I have an interest in.
I advise you that I have no interest in the new article "The New Great Game", and you may take that article in any direction you desire. However, you might like to keep in mind the above 3 policies as you do so.
The mash-up in the lead of the article is now looking very good. Thank-you for supplying the citations and you will get no argument from me. Where 2 cited sources differ, there is another Wikipedia policy that says we have options, one is to agree to express both sources in the lead, else they are to be removed from the lead and both to be expressed in the body of the article.
My next comments relate to the article, so I will take them to the talk page for discussion, which is appropriate. They will be under a new heading, as I regard us as now being out on a new landscape. Regards, William Harris |talk 09:30, 2 August 2016 (UTC)
