Rio 2016

Hi Limongi. I respectfully request that you provide opinion on why you think concerns re: crime in Rio are not pertinent to the article when other Olympic Games' cities' pages have similar concerns, e.g. human rights in China on the Beijing 2008 games page. Thank you. For your convenience, I have posted a request for consensus here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:2016_Summer_Olympics. I think it would be wise to state that the city has crime, back it up with the sources which I put in the article, and then counter-point that with observations that the IOC have said that they think the city is safe. If we combined both in one paragraph or two, think we could keep in it? Thank you.67.182.141.118 (talk) 05:23, 24 October 2009 (UTC)

UPDATE: Hi Limongi. Thank you for being flexible and fair. I, too, find it important that both sides of the story should be respected. Here is a proposed paragraph for a section for your consideration:

(new section: Security Concerns)

Since the award of the 2016 Olympics to Rio de Janeiro, the city's crime problems have gotten more attention. A police helicopter was shot down over a favela during one of many of the city's drug wars [1]. Rio's mayor has admitted that there are "big issues" facing the city in securing the games from violence, however, he also states that such concerns and issues were presented to the IOC throughout the bidding process [2]. Indeed, the city has one of the highest murder rates in the world, with 2,273 murders in 2006 [3].

The IOC, however, has expressed optimism with allowing the city and the nation of Brazil to address these concerns[4]. Seven years is enough time for Rio de Janeiro to clean up its crime problem the IOC says. IOC spokesman Mark Adams told The Associated Press "we have confidence in their capacity to deliver a safe Games in seven years." "Security is of course a very important aspect of any Olympic Games no matter where it is in the world. This is of course entirely under the national, regional and city authorities." [5], [6], [7] Finally, Brazil President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva has noted that the city has hosted other high-profile events without major incident, for example the 2007 Pan American Games. [8]

What do you think? Feel free to edit as you see fit directly in the paragraphs above.  :) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.182.141.118 (talk) 18:47, 24 October 2009 (UTC)

Hello Felipe. Would you mind to look at this, please? The article was deleted and recreated again. I've added {{prod}}, since the sources are insufficient in my opinion. However, I can't speak Portuguese and it seems, that Sabino could be somewhat notable in Brazil. Thanks for your time, have a good day. --Vejvančický (talk) 09:21, 20 June 2009 (UTC)

Thanks many times Felipe, good work! Many greetings to the sunny Rio and good luck with the 2014 World Cup - especially the Spanish team is very young and excellent, it would be a hard nut to crack even for Brazilian canaries:) Antonín Vejvančický (talk) 06:50, 21 June 2009 (UTC)

Limongi, I am trying to include Brazil and India in the article Great power due to recent events and the attention that the international press is giving to these countries as emerging powers. Could you express your opinion in the Talk Page? Felipe Menegaz 03:28, 11 July 2009 (UTC)
That is not easy... See: [1] [2] [3] [4] Felipe Menegaz 01:13, 12 July 2009 (UTC)
Yes, I know. I really don't understand why it is so difficult for people to accept that Brazil has emerged as a global power. All the sources clearly state that. I lived in the U.S. for a year... I was amazed to see that the majority of Americans (at least the one's I've met, including teachers) had absolutely no clue whatsoever about Brazil. They thought I spoke Spanish, that the capital of Brazil was Buenos Aires, and asked me if I "lived in the jungle", if there were "monkeys on the streets", etc. I would understand them if this happened 20 years ago, but today with the internet?!?!?! Unfortunately the same type of ignorant (lit.) people are here on Wikipedia, and from what I've learned in life, it is extremely difficult to change the views of narrow-minded people - they simply don't want to accept the facts.Limongi (talk) 01:33, 12 July 2009 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:Banco do Brasil logo.png)

Thanks for uploading File:Banco do Brasil logo.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Hi, would be nice to have some backward photo too, specifically one of Alfonsin and Sarney together ( like this one [5] but not sure about licenses ) as they are the Founding Fathers of integration and later mercosur in early 80s --Jor70 (talk) 14:17, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

I noted you undo all my contributions to the UNASUR article. May I ask why? Thank you.

Brazilian Diplomatic Missions

Hello, According to the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs website, there is no mention whatsoever to these Vice-Consulates. The link is here Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Regards, Aquintero (talk) 11:31, 8 October 2009 (UTC)

Pedro II signature

Hello there! Tell me something, if I upload a better version of Pedro II signature, could you improve it as you did to the one that it is in the article now? Regards, --Lecen (talk) 15:54, 19 November 2009 (UTC)

Hello! Here it is! --Lecen (talk) 16:31, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

Done. For some reason it looks blurry on the infobox. Limongi (talk) 17:14, 24 November 2009 (UTC)
If not asking too much, but, are you capable of making the background of these images turn into white?[6][7] Not translucid, just white. Are you capable of doing the same with this and this and also, if possible, improve their quality? Thanks! --Lecen (talk) 17:24, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

Brazil

Hello, Limongi! Good morning! The article Brazil is blocked due to a dispute over a content. I would like to know if you would be interested in giving your opinion to end it once and for all. In case you do not know much about the subject, I could explain it better to you. This is the link. All help is needed. Thank your very much and kind regards, --Lecen (talk) 11:46, 21 November 2009 (UTC)

Brazil United States Relations

Just because you, Limongi, represent the Brazilian dictatorial government does not mean that you control what relations are between the US and Brazil. The US media and leading government officials (i.e., Hillary Clinton, President Obama) have discussed this issue repeatedly in recent weeks in regards to Bazzil, and Congressman Crhis Smith is discussing trade measures against Brazil in conjunction with this issue, so to my mind and that of many other Americans, this is a very relevant issue You can keep editing this all that you want, and I will keep changing it back, because I am enjoying this. A tag has been placed on G1.com, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect to a nonexistent page.

If you can fix this redirect to point to an existing Wikipedia page, please do so and remove the speedy deletion tag. However, please do not remove the speedy deletion tag unless you also fix the redirect. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Edit warring

Your behavaiour is very negative. A couple of users agreed to make a change, and you are reverting those changes without even discussing, please stop this. ValenShephard (talk) 02:15, 28 August 2010 (UTC)

Regardless of your correctness in the dispute, please don't use the rollback tool for anything but clear-cut vandalism. Content disputes are not vandalism. Also, just in case you're unaware, I'm going to remind you of WP:3RR, which says if you make more than 3 reversions in 24 hours other than for blatant vandalism, there's an automatic block rule. Magog the Ogre (talk) 02:40, 28 August 2010 (UTC)
No need to remind me of the 3RR. I'm well aware of it. Thank you. Limongi (talk) 02:53, 28 August 2010 (UTC)

List of diplomatic missions of Brazil

Hello, There is absolutely no proof that Brazil has missions in any of these countries nor do you have references in the 'talk page' as you claim. Please verify with the website of the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs before making changes and claiming that Brazil has said missions. Thanks you. Aquintero (talk) 08:26, 05 September 2010, (UTC)

The reference says that the Brazilian government "will open" these missions later in the year. Our policy to list missions once they have been opened, not ones that are "waiting" to be opened. Aquintero (talk) 08:37, 05 September 2010, (UTC)

Dilma Rousseff

Hello, Limongi. Long time no see, huh? In the 1960s, the COLINA has has a goal - as all the other communist organisations supported by Cuba, USSR and China - the creation of communist dictatorships. The article about Dilma has a reliable source and I would like to request you to not remove sourced content. Lastly, the fact that she once wanted to create a dictatorship does not mean that she wants to that today. Thank you, --Lecen (talk) 12:36, 27 September 2010 (UTC)
