Italian Campaign of 1796-1797 moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Italian Campaign of 1796-1797, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Military history of the Three Kingdoms period

[edit]

Hi there! I noticed you added a whole ==Battle record== subheading to the article Cao Cao, which was reverted. I agree with this removal: I don't think a battle record table really belongs in a biographical article.

If you're interested in the topic, there might be a more appropriate place for a table like that. We don't really have an overview article about all the military engagements that took place in the civil war at the end of the Han dynasty. Military history of the Three Kingdoms § Campaigns and battles has an existing table you might want to reformat if you think a different presentation would better suit the information. Timeline of the Three Kingdoms period has a bunch of tables with almost no prose overview, and meanwhile we have Category:Battles during the end of the Han dynasty but no main article Battles during the end of the Han dynasty.

Wikipedia's old-school dynastic periodisation structure makes it a little bit difficult to write about topics that span multiple dynasties, but it's still doable. If you think battle record tables for individual warlords are a valuable data structure, you might be able to add them as subheadings underneath individual biographical overviews in Military history of the Three Kingdoms, which approximates sole authorship and duplicates a bunch of information already present elsewhere, or you could try your hand at creating a new article to present your battle record tables. The main biography articles just aren't the right spot. All the best, Folly Mox (talk) 13:57, 11 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
