An article you recently created, Funhaven, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Hello, Lilbenny04, and welcome to Wikipedia. I edit here too, under the username Jamiebuba, and I thank you for your contributions.
I wanted to let you know, however, that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Funhaven, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Funhaven.
You might like to note that such discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. And, our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.
If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Jamiebuba}}
. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~
. Thanks!

- Hello Jamiebuba! I understand that my article may not suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia due to the lack of sources that aren't peered reviewed but this article in which I am creating is actually an assignment in which I was assigned to create an article on any of our preferred subject. The assignment specifies that we can include any type of websites or news, or magazine sources to expand on our article. The point of this assignment is to see the significance of Wikipedia and how its data can impact the knowledge of others while also being a website in which anyone can edit its data across the encyclopedia. I hope my article did not give you the wrong the idea as to what my intentions were and I ask if you could please not put it up deletion as it is very important to me and my studies. Thanks!
- Ben Williams

Lilbenny04 (talk) 17:58, 21 December 2022 (UTC)- Sorry for deleting that note that was an accident! Lilbenny04 (talk) 19:08, 21 December 2022 (UTC)

[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles, or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion debates, as you did with Funhaven. Otherwise, it may be difficult to create consensus. If you oppose the deletion of an article, please comment at the respective page instead. Thank you. AllyD (talk) 19:34, 21 December 2022 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Funhaven
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Funhaven, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Jumpytoo Talk 21:55, 21 December 2022 (UTC)
- Hello! I donât understand why my article is being tagged with a speedy deletion nomination when I literally work for the company. I understand that my article may prove to be worrisome because of itâs delivered information but I have worked for Funhaven for 3 years now and know enough about its History. It is not fair to me that I get penalized for publishing an article in which some of you arenât aware of. I am only publishing the article for an assignment and because we were not required to use peer reviewed sources. Also, my apologies for deleting the deletion notice as I mentioned before it was an accident while I was finalizing my article. This is my first time doing an article over Wikipedia so if I caused any harm my apologies again. Lilbenny04 (talk) 22:02, 21 December 2022 (UTC)
- Hi @Lilbenny04, It can be tough to see your contribution up for deletion, but keep in mind this is one of many processes in place to protect the quality of work that is added to Wikipedia. Currently as the article stands it reads like a promotional page for Funhaven, not an encyclopaedic summary of a notable topic. If you recall from the student training modules, your references must come from independent, reliable sources known for fact checking and neutrality. The majority of your references are from the Funhaven website itself (not independent) or social media (not reliable). You have the opportunity to significantly edit the article to improve its quality, and demonstrate the topic's notability, if you are able to find significant coverage from reliable, independent secondary sources. I think it's useful to review Wikipedia's 4th pillar as a reminder to be respectful as you interact with Wikipedia's volunteers and act in good faith and assume good faith of other editors. Any questions feel free to reach out. Brianda (Wiki Ed) (talk) 22:57, 21 December 2022 (UTC)
- Please also read the Wikipedia's procedures for editing with a Conflict of Interest, which is relevant in this case, given your employment. AllyD (talk) 07:57, 22 December 2022 (UTC)

- The key to any Wikipedia article is the sources. They don't need to be peer reviewed, but they need to come from reliable sources (like major newspapers), and they need to be independent of the subject of the article. A company website may have completely correct information, but there's no way for a reader to know. The fact that you can verify information in the article also isn't helpful, because a reader in 10 years probably isn't going to be able to track you down to check. (And even if they could, there's the whole "don't trust random people on the internet" thing). Ian (Wiki Ed) (talk) 19:42, 22 December 2022 (UTC)

- Lilbenny04, the only reason I saved your article from speedy deletion is because you're a student, but it appears that you are editing way outside the scope of your assignments. I can't believe that you are permitted to work in article space. Ian (Wiki Ed), I want to give you a heads up so you can talk some sense into this person because, student or not, if their disruption continues, they risk being blocked.--Bbb23 (talk) 22:31, 21 December 2022 (UTC)
- One more thing. The draft, as it stands, is egregiously promotional, and I cannot prevent users from tagging it as WP:G11. I've removed the probable copyrighted images from the article, but I strongly urge you to rewrite it soon.--Bbb23 (talk) 22:33, 21 December 2022 (UTC)
- @Bbb23 I've gotten in contact with the instructor. Thanks for your patience and willingness to go above and beyond to help. Ian (Wiki Ed) (talk) 19:42, 22 December 2022 (UTC)

Your draft article, Draft:Funhaven
[edit]Hello, Lilbenny04. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Funhaven".
In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted. When you plan on working on it further and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.
Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Liz Read! Talk! 21:24, 23 June 2023 (UTC)
