User talk:Liam7
Hi Liam
[edit]I have had a small discussion with Hoverfish about your edits to Meher Baba. I wanted to make sure that you knew that this discussion was going on: no need to go behind your back. I disagree with some of your edits, but I think it's clear that you are trying to do your best and add value. Welcome to the monkey house.--Nemonoman 04:06, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
Removal of warning
[edit]I have removed the vandalism warning, seeing that it was all done in good will. Welcome from me too. I am no gate-keeper, by the way. I would prefer that a wider group of editors sees to it that edits stay encyclopedic and deletions according to consensus, so that no single one appears to have any "ownership" feeling over the article. Welcome!
[edit]Welcome!
Hey, Liam7, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thanks for your contributions. I hope you like the site and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful (some of them may sound stupid, but I recommend you check them out):
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- How to edit a page
- Help pages
- Tutorial
- How to write a great article
- Manual of Style
- The Sandbox — A great place to experiment
- WP:Village pump — A good place for help
While editing, please remember:
- Be Bold, but not reckless in updating pages
- No personal attacks: be upset with the contributions, not the contributor
You should introduce yourself here at the new user log. I hope you enjoy editing and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name, the date, and the time.
For your first edits, I suggest searching for articles that you think might interest you. You could also be audacious and try a random page.
If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}}
on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome and happy editing! Cbrown1023 20:41, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
Locating changes
[edit]Hi again, you have expressed a difficulty locating who has done a particlar change. If you haven't figured it out yet, you press on a page's history tab and you find all the recent edits with the names of the editors. You can then check two edits (the older version left, the recent right), press "compare versions" and you get a detailed view of the change made. Hoverfish 21:00, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
Please remember to be courteous

Your recent comments re: Chris on Meher Baba talk page have crossed a line, in my opinion. I have seen similar comments begin edit wars and other wiki-attacks. On the Meher Baba page, in particular, these comments seem to me out of place, and I hope you will reconsider them. Please assume good faith.--Nemonoman 01:39, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
"Citation Needed"
[edit]Typically, the citation needed[citation needed] template is used where an editor has reason to disbelief the integrity of a statement. It implies that the statement may be a lie. Citation needed[citation needed] is not typically used simply as a note that a statement doesn't yet include a citable reference. That sort of note is typically made on the discussion page. You might note for example, how the peer reviewers made notes about statements needing references, but didn't run through the article peppering citation needed[citation needed] every couple of paragraphs.
There is no need to include citation needed[citation needed] for each figure in a sentence. One citation needed[citation needed] per sentence is adequate; you've made your point.
I assume you meant the citation needed[citation needed] references to be slightly belligerent. You have succeeded. Do you intend to make this same sort of effort in other subject areas? --Nemonoman 18:24, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
PS: I add my name by clicking the "Your signature with timestamp" button on the button row above. This button automatically adds two hyphens: --Nemonoman 18:24, 7 December 2006 (UTC). I don't know where you got the idea that two hyphens relates to sockpuppets in any way.
Avatar's Abode Needs Help
[edit]Liam, Could you please develop this article a bit? Avatar's Abode It is frightfully short and needs someone who knows a bit more about it. Perhaps more history, exact location, who is in charge, layout, etc. Chris 13:45, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
