Disambiguation link notification for August 9
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Portrayal of East Asians in Hollywood, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page John Hawkes (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Creation of a Yellowface Article
[edit]The creation of a Yellowface article sounds like a great idea or an article that talks about the racial discrimination of East Asians in general. I would contribute in anyway possible because it's good to have something like that focuses on the discrimination yet, I want to suggest keeping the Portrayal of East Asians in Hollywood article too because this time around the article can focus on other topics besides discrimination although because of the focus the article had in the first place on discrimination and its heavy focus on it the retention of the latter article might not workout. I like to hear what you think do you thinks it's a good idea to keep the portrayal of East Asians in Hollywood article, but creating the Yellowface article sounds like the right plan. IceBrotherhood (talk) 01:55, 25 August 2013 (UTC)
- Yes, that sounds like a plan. When you refer to Yellowface in media I like to ask will it also include media in other countries that also continue to use Yellowface like Denmark? Another idea I like to throw out is if we could call it Yellowface and other racial discrimination of East Asians in media because I like to be similar to the Blackface article. Where it shows the complete detail history of its use, who used it, why it came about, but at the same time also refer to the other forms of racial discrimination that have occurred in history and continue to occur today too because in the Portrayal of East Asians in Hollywood article it does refer to other forms of racial discrimination that have ocurred. Just a thought tell me what you think. While the other article refers to just to the general portrayals of East Asians although I don't know the success of retaining the article for there isn't a much detailed history of the portrayal of East Asians in American society beyond stereotypes and various forms of racial discrimination until more recent history. IceBrotherhood (talk) 02:26, 25 August 2013 (UTC)
So you think I should create the article? IceBrotherhood (talk) 03:04, 25 August 2013 (UTC) Kay I'll give it a shot why talk about something and not do it, but I would like some help so if you know anyone who's interested can you please send them my way and talk to whomever that created the article Portrayals of East Asians in Hollywood to give me access to their stuff for transfer or should I do that? If you do agree to that can you please ask if they can change the focus of their article to talk about general portrayals and make something like this a section of the new redone article. While mine takes care of the rest. If you can Thanks. IceBrotherhood (talk) 03:04, 25 August 2013 (UTC)
