"fewer subclauses and big words"

Thank you for quality articles beginning with Wao Kele o Puna, for Pesticide degradation and Moving to Work, for an outline of animal pages, for expert copy-editing, saying "My sentences generally have fewer subclauses and big words than those they replace." from the start in 2008, - you are an awesome Wikipedian!

Thank you for the kind words. Lfstevens (talk) 19:07, 11 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Select Survey Invite

[edit]

I'm working on a study of political motivations and how they affect editing. I'd like to ask you to take a survey. The survey should take no more than 1-2 minutes. Your survey responses will be kept private. Our project is documented at https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Research:Wikipedia_%2B_Politics.

Your survey Link: http://uchicago.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_9S3JByWf57fXEkR?Q_DL=56np5HpEZWkMlr7_9S3JByWf57fXEkR_MLRP_egQxBvGKIxtPh1b&Q_CHL=gl

I am asking you to participate in this study because you are a frequent editor of pages on Wikipedia that are of political interest. We would like to learn about your experiences in dealing with editors of different political orientations.

Sincere thanks for your help! Porteclefs (talk) 12:43, 13 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

He and she

[edit]

Hi, this person is a woman, so referring to them using the pronoun "he" feels odd. Generally, in Slavonic countries you can tell the gender by the name: if it ends in -a then it's almost certainly a woman. – Uanfala (talk) 10:37, 6 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Oops. Thanks for the heads up. Live and learn! Lfstevens (talk) 16:15, 6 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Allotropes of carbon: incomplete edit

[edit]
Please see today's comment on the page Talk:Allotropes of carbon. On checking the edit history of that article, I see that the comment refers to your edit of August 15 which seems to be missing some words. I think it is best that you as original author fill in the intended words, rather than having someone else guess. Dirac66 (talk) 20:52, 5 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for noticing. Fixed. Lfstevens (talk) 03:06, 6 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Mohan Parmar & Vishnuprasad Trivedi

[edit]

Hello Lfstevens. Thanks for the copyediting you have done on Mohan Parmar and Vishnuprasad Trivedi. However, I still don't understand why you have put 'notability' tag in both articles. Apparently, both the writers have received several awards for their literary works. Also, the award received by both the writers are notable itself. I am still confused about your understanding of notability. Apologies if I am wrong. Thanks. -Gazal world (talk) 12:05, 10 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I added those tags because I didn't see the relevance for readers outside of India. Those articles belong in the appropriate India WPs. They need considerable expansion/details that they are unlikely to get if spread to other WPs. Thanks for noticing, and I appreciate your insights in these matters.
