There was once a stone cutter who was dissatisfied with himself and with his position in life. One day he passed a wealthy merchant's house. Through the open gateway, he saw many fine possessions and important visitors. "How powerful that merchant must be!" thought the stone cutter. He became very envious and wished that he could be like the merchant.

To his great surprise, he suddenly became the merchant, enjoying more luxuries and power than he had ever imagined, but envied and detested by those less wealthy than himself. Soon a high official passed by, carried in a sedan chair, accompanied by attendants and escorted by soldiers beating gongs. Everyone, no matter how wealthy, had to bow low before the procession. "How powerful that official is!" he thought. "I wish that I could be a high official!"

Then he became the high official, carried everywhere in his embroidered sedan chair, feared and hated by the people all around. It was a hot summer day, so the official felt very uncomfortable in the sticky sedan chair. He looked up at the sun. It shone proudly in the sky, unaffected by his presence. "How powerful the sun is!" he thought. "I wish that I could be the sun!"

Then he became the sun, shining fiercely down on everyone, scorching the fields, cursed by the farmers and laborers. But a huge black cloud moved between him and the earth, so that his light could no longer shine on everything below. "How powerful that storm cloud is!" he thought. "I wish that I could be a cloud!"

Then he became the cloud, flooding the fields and villages, shouted at by everyone. But soon he found that he was being pushed away by some great force, and realized that it was the wind. "How powerful it is!" he thought. "I wish that I could be the wind!"

Then he became the wind, blowing tiles off the roofs of houses, uprooting trees, feared and hated by all below him. But after a while, he ran up against something that would not move, no matter how forcefully he blew against it - a huge, towering rock. "How powerful that rock is!" he thought. "I wish that I could be a rock!"

Then he became the rock, more powerful than anything else on earth. But as he stood there, he heard the sound of a hammer pounding a chisel into the hard surface, and felt himself being changed. "What could be more powerful than I, the rock?" he thought.

He looked down and saw far below him the figure of a stone cutter.

Talk paged cleared as is my right. Please add new comments below. Leotardo 12:59, 17 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've gone ahead and archived your talk page for you, which is the appropriate way to clear out your talk page. There's a link to the archive at the top of this page now, I've made it as small as possible so it won't get in the way of anything. Mangojuice 13:20, 17 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It's my right to clear and not archive my talk page. Any vandalism that involves adding the archived content back will be reported. Leotardo 13:31, 17 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Warning

[edit]

Changing other peoples comments is seen as vandalism. Do not do that again. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 14:15, 17 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop removing content from Wikipedia; it is considered vandalism. If you want to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Removing vandalism warnings from your talk page is a form of vandalism. Mangojuice 21:26, 17 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It's my right to clear my talk page of anything. Even "warnings", especially those without any explanation of what I supposedly did. Leotardo 21:43, 17 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Not according to Wikipedia:Vandalism, which specifically forbids removing vandalism warnings. But I'm not going to bother with this anymore (at least, not for a while). Inappropriate warnings can be removed, as long as others don't object, but as for vandalism warnings, it's advisable to let others remove them if they're unwarranted. Anyway, I'm sorry if this is all frustrating, let's just move on and edit the Encyclopedia for a change, shall we? Mangojuice 02:33, 18 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You write this after removing the sockpuppet tag from Theonlyedge? How disingenuous of you. Don't remove that "suspected sockpuppet" tag or you will be editing the AN/I portion of the Encyclopedia. Leotardo 11:36, 18 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I removed it because you're accusing an innocent editor of abuse; it's an unfounded personal attack. Has it occurred to you to assume good faith about Theonlyedge? Your evidence becomes very shoddy if you assume good faith, and mine becomes crystal clear. I'll agree with you if a checkuser request is done that proves a link. Until then, could you please leave Theonlyedge alone? He hasn't done anything wrong at all. Mangojuice 13:25, 18 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It's not unfounded, I presented evidence of sockpuppetry. Your "evidence" is that they can't be the same person because they were both editing at roughly the same time... and one was very skilled while the other wasn't. But if he's smart enough to be skilled, he's smart enough to appear unskilled. Can you please get off this crusade of Pm_shef's? Leotardo 21:14, 18 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Leotardo, stop accusing me of being someone other than myself. You have no right to repeatedly degrade me by saying I am another user. The only evidence you apparently have against me is that my edits are similar to pm_shef's. That shouldn't be a surprise, seeing as we both lived in the same place and went to the same school. 1,000,000 people are registered with Wikipedia, and it is their right to edit whatever articles they want as long at it is of benefit to the project. I am doing just that. Please stop accusing me of sockpuppetry. I am not pm_shef, or his father. My username is a play on my last name, not anyone's company. Use your time on Wikipedia more wisely. Thanks, Theonlyedge 21:41, 19 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The evidence suggests that you are a sockpuppet. That's why a checkuser investigation has been opened on you, which you can find here. If you are not a sockpuppet, you have nothing to worry about. Leotardo 05:09, 20 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Just a note, I made the original Checkuser request, which now seems to have been removed, so that we could prove, once and for all, that we aren't sockpuppets of each other. The request wasn't made "because of your evidence" it was made because I'd gotten fed up with your accusations. pm_shef 15:20, 20 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Your so-called investigation is just you ranting on about how I like the Liberal Party. This is not evidence, so leave my user page alone. Looking at your discussion page, I see you're having some trouble figuring out the rules on Wikipedia. Contact me if you need any help. And also, it seems you think you have the 'right' to put whatever you want on your userpage/talkpage, and will delete any templates or comments that people put on it. It seems very rich that you would now start bombarding me with templates on my userpage. Of course I am not a sockpuppet, but this unfounded accusation is not appropriate on this encyclopedia. Go write an article. Theonlyedge 12:22, 20 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I never once mentioned that you like the Liberal Party. But thanks for letting me know. Leotardo 17:31, 20 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
