Bello Lafia

Well done sir. With due respect, I will like to you to judge me in this issue. I been contributed articles to Wikipedia since when I'm very novice here. One editor called Curb Safe Charmer has been bias on numerous articles whom I created by writing fail verification, citation need, it me up to a point for accusing me of UPE and I never created an article with promotion that could considered of been paid. He was unable to provide tangible reason, his report was terminated. He subjected me into some track following me any article that I edited by making it his bia system of editing on the article. I almost decided to leave Wikipedia because I can't write an article without been him into the article writing verification fail, citation needed, definition needed etc I decided to used my user talk page where I declared that I don't want him to be participating on my articles. Because there more thousands editors that will edit it and his edition on my articles is full of bia. He nominated numerous of my articles that are not notable for deletion, I quickly aligned with him. Yesterday, be continue attacking an article that I contributed of Bello Lafiaji. Without any evidence he decided to merge the article to his former organization. He didn't even message on my talk page about the current issue like how he used to but end up adding templates. For that reason I immediately remove the template because of his previous bia on my edition.

Finally sir, I hope you will use your highly respect position to judge my current issue with this user I mentioned earlier to you. And please help me to separate him from me of being participating on the article or edit I made. Because most of his edition on the article or edit I made is full of bia and is really annoying me. I'm very sure, there is law that says whenever user declare something on his/her talk page, that thing suppose to be considered. I'm not vandalizing Wikipedia article, edit or creating articles that are not notable. Please considered my request and judge us accordingly. Thank you Abbas Kwarbai (talk) 14:27, 23 October 2020 (UTC)

This is currently under discussion at ANI. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 06:05, 24 October 2020 (UTC)

How we will see unregistered users

Hi!

You get this message because you are an admin on a Wikimedia wiki.

When someone edits a Wikimedia wiki without being logged in today, we show their IP address. As you may already know, we will not be able to do this in the future. This is a decision by the Wikimedia Foundation Legal department, because norms and regulations for privacy online have changed.

Instead of the IP we will show a masked identity. You as an admin will still be able to access the IP. There will also be a new user right for those who need to see the full IPs of unregistered users to fight vandalism, harassment and spam without being admins. Patrollers will also see part of the IP even without this user right. We are also working on better tools to help.

If you have not seen it before, you can read more on Meta. If you want to make sure you don’t miss technical changes on the Wikimedia wikis, you can subscribe to the weekly technical newsletter.

We have two suggested ways this identity could work. We would appreciate your feedback on which way you think would work best for you and your wiki, now and in the future. You can let us know on the talk page. You can write in your language. The suggestions were posted in October and we will decide after 17 January.

Thank you. /Johan (WMF)

Your ratings of articles

It is demoralizing for an editor to have his recently created or crafted articles, Robert Lapham and Edward E. McClish, given a "start" rating. Can you explain your action? What factors do you consider in rendering judgment on the quality of articles? What are the deficiencies of these articles? What must be done to elevate these articles to the barely-adequate status of "C" or "B" articles as described by Wikipedia:Content assessment? Smallchief (talk) 10:36, 27 January 2022 (UTC)

If you don't like my ratings, nothing stops you or another editor from changing it. It's unassessed so I assessed it, if you leave a Tambayan Header blank then chances are I'll find that article and assess that. B to Stub tags are just an editor's opinion and not a badge of honor. If you really want something to help improve your morale or feel that your article feels adequate then submit them to Peer Review or Wikipedia:Good article nominations. GA to FA is where it's at. --Lenticel (talk) 00:59, 28 January 2022 (UTC)
0926 Zulu for your rating of McClish and 0928 Zulu the same day for your rating of Lapham. You took two minutes to review and post your rating about articles of 1,000 words, photos, maps, footnotes, references, etc. I'll let you draw your own conclusions from that. Review the article and suggest me the article protection methods from biased information

Hello Lenticel,

I wish you are doing great. And I am glad that I have an opportunity to contact you here. As soon as I learnt how to edit and create articles here in Wikipedia, I started to do more and more in several langauges. So far I created articles in the following fields: medicine, cinematography, sociology, history, politics, entertainment. Mostly I translated ready articles into Turkish and Uzbek Wikipedia. And I mostly edited articles in English Wikipedia by updating and renewing the existing old information. But I found there are some editors who are making a biased edits to some of my articles in several languages. For example here in English Wikipedia my article about Utkirbek Kakhorov ( https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Utkirbek_Kakhorov ) was nominated for deletion by one of the users. Then I tried to improve the article with credited proven information on the web and I wrote about it in the needed section of the deletion. As after it is not deleted yet, the user (with the Russian username Kagansky) inserted some biased information which is not backed up with references. I want you to check out the article and its well-being. And please suggest me how to protect my articles from edits that affect the reputation of the organizations, people etc that articles are about.

Thank you for your help I appreciate it Film contributor (talk) 11:09, 16 April 2022 (UTC)

Hotwiki's aggressive behavior

Hi. I would like to consult something about this editor's behavior towards others. This has been going on for several years and a lot of ANI discussions were raised against this user but he only gets "a slap on the wrist" for his aggressive behavior.

Just recently, I got a run-in again with Hotwiki at the Saksi article, restoring texts that he removed because in his opinion, it was "unreferenced". After restoring them, he removed it again and justifying that the information where Mike Enriquez and Vicky Morales were transferred was "trivial", while adding italics on program titles. I restored my edits since there was an agreement before in the last ANI I raised against him that any changes in this article should be discussed in the talk page. Well, you can read the rest of our heated argument at the Saksi talk page and at one point tried to provoke me to revert his edits and be blocked again.

I'm speaking on behalf of other Filipino Wikipedians who have good intentions in editing the articles Hotwiki is trying to gatekeep for several years. If you notice, most of the articles that he gatekeeps have very little or missing information about them. He cuts and removes most of other editor's contributions and dismiss them as "trivial". Checking the Saksi, 24 Oras or Unang Hirit articles alone shows that if you read those articles, you will sense that some information is missing. Not to mention the his behavior in the past when he replaced most of the GMA Network's image title cards and replacing it with the same image that he uploaded.

I have confronted this user several times, and it seems he's just being hard-headed and won't agree on any consensus. What's "right" in his opinion must be followed and the hell other editors' contributions.

What should I do with this? If another ANI will be raised against him, other administrators that have no background or knowledge on his past behavior will just dismiss these accusations and sometimes, the one that is reporting is being gaslit. -WayKurat (talk) 07:16, 31 March 2024 (UTC)

I need to inform that WayKurat personal attacked me yesterday.[1]Hotwiki (talk) 09:47, 31 March 2024 (UTC)
To add more to this, it seems WayKurat is personally holding a grudge over that article, and him being blocked last September 2023[2], when I reported him to 3RR. Ever since that happened, I've only ever interacted with him directly once which was yesterday. WayKurat is throwing a lot of accusations. I've tried my best following Wikipedia guidelines and rules. That editors seems to be taking an issue about me removing unreferenced edits. More than 3 years ago, when I removed unreferenced edits and information I found trivial. He had an issue about it.[3] Then when he reported me to Ani years later. He used that opportunity to restore unreferenced material into the Saksi article.[4] That incident later got him blocked for 3RR. Now, he's trying to kick me out of this site and throwing all these accusations towards me. Hotwiki (talk) 10:12, 31 March 2024 (UTC)
Says the one that started it. I'm saying this in Filipino since Lenticel is a Filipino as well. Alam mo bang maraming galit na bagong Wikipedia contributors sayo kasi sa pinaggagawa mo sa mga contributions nila? I'm not holding a grudge against you. You are creating a toxic environment within the Filipino Wikipedia community because of your constant gatekeeping. -WayKurat (talk) 10:18, 31 March 2024 (UTC)
And will you look at that. Another ANI report against you. -WayKurat (talk) 10:26, 31 March 2024 (UTC)

@WayKurat and Hotwiki: While I appreciate both of you asking for my opinion, I think this should be better off taken in a neutral ground rather than someone's user talk page. Several suggestions can be seen at Wikipedia:Dispute resolution. I also don't understand what you mean with slap on the wrist WayKurat as Hotwiki has several blocks under their name due to 3RR. If you really think that context might be missing from any ANI reports then you can link past reports where the user got blocked due to their actions. --Lenticel (talk) 12:31, 31 March 2024 (UTC)

After that 1 revert I made (which I did, to also explain why I removed certain things in that article). I immediately took it to the talk page. I only stopped responding in the talk page once that editor started accusing me of personal things. I thought the issue was over the day after, especially I didn't remove the things he reverted after that 1 revert. Until I found out the editor messaged two administrators regarding their issue with me and so I had to explain myself. Hotwiki (talk) 12:38, 31 March 2024 (UTC)

Iloilo State University of Science and Technology

Hello. Can you please check if Iloilo State University of Science and Technology (ISUST) and Iloilo State University of Fisheries Science and Technology (ISUFST) refer to the same university? A new editor who seems to hail from Iloilo recently renamed in the article body the ISUST to ISUFST. I have checked the official website and confirmed the university was indeed renamed to ISUFST in 2023. But there are two articles here, so I don't know if one should be deleted.
