Welcome

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia! We appreciate encyclopedic contributions, but some of your recent edits, such as the ones to the page Lutalo Muhammad, do not conform to our policies. For more information on this, see Wikipedia's policies on vandalism and limits on acceptable additions. If you'd like to experiment with the wiki's syntax, please do so in the "sandbox" rather than in articles.

If you still have questions, there is a new contributor's help page, or you can write {{helpme}} below this message along with a question and someone will be along to answer it shortly. You may also find the following pages useful for a general introduction to Wikipedia.

I hope you enjoy editing and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Feel free to write a note on the bottom of my talk page if you want to get in touch with me. Again, welcome! Stephenb (Talk) 11:44, 26 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Lutalo Muhammad. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted or removed. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Stephenb (Talk) 11:45, 26 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent editing history at Lutalo Muhammad shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. SMS Talk 11:52, 26 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

(edit conflict) Hi Legalactionjackson. Regarding your message on my talkpage: you are currently involved in an edit war with several other users, which can result in you being blocked from editing. My first and most important advice to you would be stop reverting the article to your preferred version. Whether you are in the right or not, edit warring is not acceptable on Wikipedia. Instead, try to engage the other users on the article's talkpage. Explain why you disagree with the version preferred by Egghead06 and Stephenb, and discuss with them how to improve the page to resolve these issues.

I see no immediate issue with the version they prefer; it is fully sourced and neutral in tone. It is certainly not vandalism, and if you continue to refer to it as such you are liable to be sanctioned for personal attacks. Go to the article talkpage and explain there precisely what you disagree with, hopefully a dialogue can be raised and the issue resolved. I repeat, if you continue reverting without discussion, it is you, not Egghead06, who will end up being blocked. Yunshui  11:56, 26 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

In other words, what SMS said up there ↑. Yunshui  11:56, 26 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits

[edit]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button or located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when they said it. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 12:17, 26 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Notice of Edit warring noticeboard discussion

[edit]

Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion involving you at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring regarding a possible violation of Wikipedia's policy on edit warring. Thank you. Yunshui  12:33, 26 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Concern about your username

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "Legalactionjackson", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it may be interpreted as threatening some sort of legal action against Wikipedia or Wikipedia editors. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username, or you may simply create a new account for editing. Thank you. If you have a dispute with the community or its members, use dispute resolution. If you do choose to use legal action or threats of legal action to resolve disputes, you will not be allowed to continue editing until it is resolved and your user account or IP address may be blocked. A polite report of a legal problem such as defamation or copyright infringement is not a threat and will be acted on quickly. --Orange Mike | Talk 12:39, 26 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Legalactionjackson, welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. Your editing pattern indicates that you may be using multiple accounts or coordinating editing with people outside Wikipedia. Our policy on multiple accounts usually does not allow this. If you operate multiple accounts directly or with the help of another person, please remember to disclose these connections. Yunshui  12:55, 26 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. Yunshui  13:06, 26 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked temporarily from editing for edit warring. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.
