Quick note to say that dates like 1970s do not need apostrophes added. Best wishes. Tacyarg (talk) 15:38, 19 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on your user page, User:Leevalleyireland/sandbox, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be advertising which only promotes or publicises someone or something. Promotional editing of any kind is not permitted, whether it be promotion of a person, company, product, group, service, belief, or anything else. This is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages — user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources or advertising space. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because it has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. Also, your username gives the impression that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must follow all these steps:

  1. Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
  2. Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
  3. Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
  4. Provide a new username.

To do this, insert the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can search to see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is still available.

Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Hey man im josh (talk) 17:20, 22 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without a good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Requested username:

Request reason:

I apologise for not abiding to Wikipedia's guidelines and would like to request an unblock and change of Username. It is not my wish to write promotional content and had included a draft of an article on the Sandbox page (as I could not see way to save a draft without posting to Sandbox). The article was not final and needed editing, I wish to review and remove any items that seem promotional. I also wish to make useful contributions to Wikipedia on other page edits, references etc.

Decline reason:

Please answer JBW's questions: please state exactly what your position is in relation to the company you wrote about. Are you an employee of it, an owner of it, a contractor working for that company as a client, or what? HouseBlaster (talk • he/they) 05:47, 16 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If you have a personal connection to the Lee Valley Ireland company, you have what is called a Conflict of Interest; if you are an employee for them, you are considered a paid editor. In either case, when you are unblocked, you shouldn't write about the company but instead write about things you do not have a personal connection to. --AntiDionysius (talk) 16:05, 26 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Having read the page that you created, I find it difficult to believe that you did not wish to write promotional content. However, assuming that you didn't, please state exactly what your position is in relation to the company you wrote about. Are you an employee of it, an owner of it, a contractor working for that company as a client, or what? JBW (talk) 23:20, 5 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
