Warning Steps

[edit]

Hello, Leafyplant! I saw your warning message to User talk:71.127.203.173; just so you know, vandals should be warned in a series of steps (1, 2, 3, 4, and then a block). I believe you used a 3rd warning template in place of a 1st warning template on the talk page mentioned above. See the Newpage Patrol page for more info on vandal fighting and the appropriate use of warning templates. Keep up the good work! -- P.B. Pilhet / Talk 21:07, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome, Leafyplant! If you ever need help, I'd be glad to offer my assistance. See you around! -- P.B. Pilhet / Talk 21:14, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi, would you please tell me why you considered my editing as a vandalism regarding your modification [1]? Although the statement was added by 220.76.64.167, I was the one who set the primary source to the citation (to the U.S. House of Congress). 218.225.189.142 18:15, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

My mistake, it was my intention to remove the random insertion of the word "hello", and I reverted your edit accidentally. Again, My apologies.Leafyplant 18:25, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

User:Leavyplant did the usual deletion from Carfax (company). Just thought you'd like to know. Cornell Rockey 16:42, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What is happening with this Carfax article? Is this editing taking place from Carfax HQ? I'm gonna keep putting that legal case info back unless I get a good reason not to. Are you going to get your latest faux-you shut down? Cornell Rockey 19:58, 24 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Is the protect against IPs and newly registered accounts not working? Unless this guy created these joke accounts a while back, he shouldn't be able to edit. Cornell Rockey 17:03, 25 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I think thats the most protection that a page can get. Not sure what else we could do, other than hope we can outlast the endurance of this deleter. WP is on our side, and I have infinite patience. Cornell Rockey 04:17, 26 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Username

[edit]

I just wanted to let you know I cracked up when I saw your username. Wonderful.  :) Have a good day. --Yamla 20:15, 27 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, you need to ask an admin to indef. block this name (i.e. the vandal's, not yours), since it is an impersonation of your name. Please see WP:Usernames to see the policy upon vandals using others usernames as an attack. I saw the report at AIV just a couple of minutes ago. P.S.: Yamla's an admin, so you can ask her to do the block. Real96 00:57, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Nevermind, I will do it. Real96 00:58, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Carfax (company) sockpuppets

[edit]

Hi, I've dealt with Verdict (talk contribs) before in the past, but what's his connection with Carfax (company)? I've only ever noticed him violating WP:3RR on wrestling related articles before. By the way, SpuriousQu is obviously an abusive sockpuppet of someone and has already been blocked. --  Netsnipe  ►  12:37, 7 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for flagging the vandalism going on at the Percy Schmeiser page see http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Percy_Schmeiser&action=history

Why people want to remove published legal text and quotes is beyond me...please keep an eye on them as they have already revandalised the page after your revert.

Thanks

[edit]

This is in reference to the message you sent me regarding our chess music video- I added the link due to our frequent response from chess enthusiast from all over the world who have added the video to their websites- I understand Wikipedia is meant to be informative and I feel that it could add extra info to the page- please reconsider the link- thanks- as for the other warning messages I have no knowledge of them being sent as I've only today suscribed to wikipedia. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6711820600051931222 —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Boababband (talkcontribs) 12:40, 23 March 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Dear Boababband, Welcome to wikipedia! I removed the chess music video because it seemed to contain no notable information about chess, and the inclusion of the email address in the comments made me think it was a promotion for a musical group. If you put the video back I will not remove it again, however I suspect that another editor would remove it. Again, welcome to wikipedia, I hope you like it and stay a while Leafyplant 13:31, 23 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Polish History

[edit]

Hello, Leafyplant: I Have A good Question, I am Highly Educated in Polish History, and I started looking throw most of the polish site here, and most of the information is an outsiders oppinion, not true Polish History, So I start fixing this most of this thing that they had no clue about, Now I am Band from my home computer and Wikipedia is hiding the truth, and making up lies. If you need me to prove that I know more then the one that is making up this information, I can. I will be alerting all Polish organizations if I can resolve this. So Can you Open a dialog with me. Thank Sir Gutowski

Dear Sir Gutowski,

Thank you for your interest in wikipedia. I know nothing about polish history, My only involvement with Golden Freedoms, Golden Freedom and Golden Liberty was to revert edits like [3] [4] which damaged the article by removing proper formatting. I suggest that you contact the editors who wrote the article and discuss your edits with them. Leave messages on the talk pages of User_talk:Piotrus or User_talk:Amatulic. Also, discuss the edits that you would like to make on the talk pages of the article Talk:Golden Liberty. If necessary you can request mediation Wikipedia:Requests_for_arbitration. Good luck, and please tell me if I can be of anymore help. Leafyplant 17:49, 23 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 202.239.229.7 (talk) 11:46, 3 April 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Hello, My reversion of your edit has nothing to do with my opinion of china. Rather your inclusion of your opinion in wikipedia. Consider your statement below.

The Communist Party of China (CPC) will only face unrest among the PRC's growing and rights-deprived middle class and increasingly impoverished peasants as time passes by. The PRC needs to be democratized if its successes over the past few decades are to persist well into this century. Democracy must prevail at some point

It is an opinion, one which most people may agree with, but it does not belong in the wikipedia article, and it should not be in bold. Leafyplant 11:53, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, why do you insist on reverting the DJ Premier page? Thanks if you spent time typing that list, but I cleaned it up and added it to the separate production page for premo. A separate page will encourage more edits, views.

[edit]

Hi Leafyplant,

I'm asking Wikipedians who are interested in United States legal articles to take a look at WP:Hornbook, the new "JD curriculum task force".

Our mission is to assimilate into Wikipedia all the insights of an American law school education, by reducing hornbooks to footnotes.

  • Over the course of a semester, each subpage will shift its focus to track the unfolding curriculum(s) for classes using that casebook around the country.
  • It will also feature an extensive, hyperlinked "index" or "outline" to that casebook, pointing to pages, headers, or {{anchors}} in Wikipedia (example).
  • Individual law schools can freely adapt our casebook outlines to the idiosyncratic curriculum devised by each individual professor.
  • I'm encouraging law students around the country to create local chapters of the club I'm starting at my own law school, "Student WP:Hornbook Editors". Using WP:Hornbook as our headquarters, we're hoping to create a study group so inclusive that nobody will dare not join.

What you can do now:

1. Add WP:Hornbook to your watchlist, {{User Hornbook}} to your userpage, and ~~~~ to Wikipedia:Hornbook/participants.
2. If you're a law student,
(You don't have to start the club, or even be involved in it; just help direct me to someone who might.)
3. Introduce yourself to me. Law editors on Wikipedia are a scarce commodity. Do knock on my talk page if there's an article you'd like help on.

File:AlligatorFL2007.JPG missing description details

[edit]
Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as File:AlligatorFL2007.JPG is missing a description and/or other details on its image description page. If possible, please add this information. This will help other editors to make better use of the image, and it will be more informative for readers.

If the information is not provided, the image may eventually be proposed for deletion, a situation which is not desirable, and which can easily be avoided.

Notification of automated file description generation

[edit]

Your upload of File:BrownAnole.jpg or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.

This notification is placed on your talk page because a bot has identified you either as the uploader of the file, or as a contributor to its metadata. It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks! Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Custom signature fix needed

[edit]

Hi there! You have a custom signature set in your account preferences. A change to Wikipedia's software has made your current custom signature incompatible with the software.

The problem: Your signature contains a syntax error, specifically formatting tags that are in the wrong order.

The solutions: You can reset your signature to the default, or you can fix your signature.

Solution 1: Reset your signature to the default:
  1. Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
  2. Uncheck the box (☑︎→☐) that says "Treat the above as wiki markup."
  3. Remove anything in the Signature: text box.
  4. Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page. (The red "Restore all default settings" button will reset all of your preference settings, not just the signature.)
Solution 2: Fix your custom signature:
  1. Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
  2. Change the signature as shown below, or make other edits to make the signature appear how you want it to appear.
  3. Click Save to update to your newly fixed signature.

Current signature:
<b><font color="#009900" >[[User:leafyplant|Leafy</font><font color = "brown">plant]]</font></b>

Fixed signature:
<b>[[User:leafyplant|<span style="color:#009900;">Leafy</span><span style="color:brown;">plant</span>]]</b>

More information is available at Wikipedia:Signatures#Customizing how everyone sees your signature. If you have followed these instructions and still want help, please leave a message at Wikipedia talk:Signatures. Thanks. – Jonesey95 (talk) 19:38, 4 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
