License tagging for Image:Firass Dirani.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Firass Dirani.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Image legality questions. 22:01, 7 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Prmf-rg-chip.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Image legality questions page. Thank you. feydey 23:15, 7 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ello there, LeafGreen Ranger.. I'd rather like for you to give your input on the future of List of Sci Fi Channel (United States) programs since it may invariably suffer the same fate as Other films aired on The SciFi Channel, so please do so if time permits. I feel it a rather pertinant piece of information concerning the Sci Fi Channel, and its demise may compromise the article in its entirety. DrWho42 03:50, 4 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, it's 6 against 13... Your vote may change this and deliver this article out from being deleted.
Feel free to put your input there. DrWho42 20:19, 4 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your edit to "Heroes"

[edit]

Please do not carelessly remove or change Wikipedia content. As of the pilot, Nathan can fly, no Peter. A clear message was posted in the section. Talk page has multiple viewer citations. Peter is never said to fly when everyone else is stated to have powers outright. Is it really all that complex? ACS (Wikipedian); Talk to the Ace. See what I've edited. 16:05, 25 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry I didn't see it until i edited it so sorry

It looks like there may be some controversy brewing here, so I thought I'd try to see your motivation before problems start. What do you feel is unique about the chart presented on your new list that is not found at List of characters in Heroes? I don't believe that your contribution to Heroes was "spam", but I'm also not sure whether your list is necessary. Very few television shows have multiple character lists. My first inclination is to nominate it for deletion, but I'd like to hear your input before we proceed. Kafziel Talk 19:30, 5 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

the reason i did this list is so people can see the heroes that are in this show because there is alot of heroes and many people would like to know them, any more questions?

So you mean your list is needed because it includes characters that have not yet actually been portrayed on the show? Kafziel Talk 19:36, 5 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
No, what i mean is that many heroes in this series are being discovered so have a list of heroes, with their names, where they live or if their dead and what power do they have because we will need this list, also don't delete because it took me a long time to make this list —The preceding unsigned comment was added by LeafGreen Ranger (talkcontribs) 19:39, 5 December 2006 (UTC).[reply]
Well, I haven't nominated it yet. I have no doubt it took you a long time to make, which is why I wanted to discuss it first. Why can't those characters be included at List of characters in Heroes? Why do we need a separate article? Kafziel Talk 19:43, 5 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
the list of characters has descrition of the different people some are heroes this list has most of the heroes we know, either from the show, guest appearances and the list i want people to find the heroes easier and soon i may or may not add pictures of the heroes any more questions make a list of them so i can answer them. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by LeafGreen Ranger (talkcontribs) 19:48, 5 December 2006 (UTC).[reply]
Most of the people in the list of characters are heroes. Creating a new page doesn't really make people easier to find; it makes readers bounce back and forth between different articles while trying to find what they're looking for.
The situation is this: the page you created is probably going to be deleted. It has already been proposed. The only likely options at this point are a) having it go through the deletion process or b) discussing how we can merge the content into the main character list. So let's do that. I'm going to propose a merge on your page and we can discuss it on the talk page of List of characters in Heroes. Okay? Kafziel Talk 19:55, 5 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There seems to be some misunderstanding here, and I guess it was perpetuated by a comment in one of the discussions. The history of a page is not a place to hide content; either the content is notable for inclusion at Wikipedia, in which case it can be added to List of characters in Heroes, or it is not notable and must be deleted. There's no point in editing and updating the list and then returning it to a redirect; if you don't chime in on the talk pages, the whole thing will end up being deleted and then made into a redirect. So please participate in the discussion. Kafziel Talk 21:58, 5 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

sorry on the page when it was a redirect it said it can be updated for merge proposes i just edit some of it to be perfect so i'am sorry i'll never do it again
The information can be upgraded if it's deemed worthy of inclusion in the other article. That's what I'm trying to get you to discuss. All you need to do is go to the discussion and convince us that it's worth keeping. Otherwise it's going to get sent to Articles for Deletion. Kafziel Talk 22:40, 5 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

LeafGreen Ranger, do you have a screenshot or reference for the more complete names and locations on your List of Heroes? If so it could be useful at http://heroeswiki.com/The_List. Level 16:47, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Level check out the Fallout Talk page i have a screenshot of an update list, also if you have an itunes account buy the episode
Cool, Thanks, do you want to add it to their list? or can I? Level 17:30, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
you can and also some of those names are easy to guess

Image:John_Tui.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:John_Tui.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Hbdragon88 08:30, 24 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Articguana.png)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Articguana.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 22:01, 11 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Kikiyaon

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Kikiyaon requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Orphaned non-free media (Image:Prmf-rg-vida.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Prmf-rg-vida.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Sharks ;)

[edit]

Hi! Thansk, I will have a look, but Im not sure what we can put there that would be useful that can not be done on wikipedia?? --Stefan talk 00:23, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The problem is that there is no 'correct' classification of sharks. At wikipedia we have decided to use fishbase for fishes, so that is the classification and names that we would use predominantly, this is not saying it is correct, just that it is good to have a base. Elasmo research list is much newer than e.g. ITIS or compagno(sp) and is (was :-( ) a work in progress, fishbase uses published references so is slower to get updates, elasmo research is then probably better and more correct but it is not official acknowledged so using it will give more problems with duplicates and such. You just have to decide what source to use, if you use multiple you will have issues with multiple names for the same species and inconsistencies, but that is just life. I will not help you on your wiki, I think it is waste of time to maintain 2 different site, I think wikipedia serves my purpose very well and I will not start working on another wiki. --Stefan talk 01:14, 8 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Fire Heart.png. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.
