FYI I am newbie. I recently discovered offensive vandalism to transpiration page. I reverted the page to an older form. I am wondering if this is proper etiquette and if I should take further action? Just want to be sure my first wikipedia offering is a thorough one.
- Looks like you did just fine... :) -- Scientizzle 00:53, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

- Yep! You did good, and you did well. In follow up to a reversion, you could always warn the user, to inform them that what they're doing is vandalism. See Wikipedia:Vandalism#Warnings for more information. This is helpful because it might encourage the user to stop vandalizing (and start contributing constructively), and if they continue to vandalize, it could be reported to an admin at WP:AIV (the administrator intervention against vandalism page). There a differences between someone who is maliciously vandalizing Wikipedia, and someone who is just testing to see if Wikipedia actually works; check out the policy at WP:VANDAL for more information (especially the sections called "Types of vandalism" and "What vandalism is not").
- I hope I'm not giving you more information than you want/need. Welcome to Wikipedia, and happy editing! GracenotesT § 00:59, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Shore Girl
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Shore Girl requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Paste Let’s have a chat. 08:30, 13 November 2010 (UTC)
