The Network Hub

[edit]

Laurien,

You created an article with the title Laurien10/sandbox. I suspect it was your intention to create a sandbox article (at User:Laurien10/sandbox, but you inadvertently created the article in article space rather than user space. Normally, I would have just moved this article to your proper user sandbox, but you already had content of a different article in your sandbox, so I moved this article to the appropriate title: The Network Hub, as the article already seemed sufficiently fleshed out to be live. Please do not recreate the content at Laurien10/sandbox, as this is not a proper title for the article. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 13:56, 7 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:The Network Hub.png)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:The Network Hub.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited The Network Hub, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Start-up (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

A tag has been placed on File:The Network Hub.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Photos on Campus Special

[edit]
A Campus Special representative distributing coupon books outside the Kansas State University bookstore

I think the second one is a helpful illustration for the article. It shows Campus Special in the context they are most likely to be seen by the public, that the coupon books are designed to look like money, and how the company gets coupons into the students' hands. It would be even better with a caption. I was tempted to use something like this (-->), but want to run it by you first since it's your photograph. If you like my proposed caption, feel free to use it, either verbatim or with appropriate changes.

The first picture doesn't seem to have as much encyclopedic value. The tennis players dominate the photograph and it's hard to identify what they're holding. I'd probably remove it, but if there's a good reason to keep it in, it should be explained in the caption. Kilopi (talk) 15:38, 25 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest?

[edit]

Looking over some of your other contributions, I have a very strong suspicion that you are writing on behalf of a public relations firm. This is allowed, but requires very careful adhesion to policies (especially WP:NPOV) and can create tensions with other editors. Read WP:COI and WP:BPCOI for advice on how to minimize those tensions.

Additionally, I also suspect that your company uses multiple accounts for promotion. This is more serious. While I can't determine if these accounts represent distinct employees or if they are all used by you personally, WP:SOCK applies in either situation and explicitly lists "avoidance of scrutiny" as an illegitimate use of multiple accounts.

Going forward, the best thing you can do to mitigate both of these issues is to have this and all other accounts controlled by you or your employer publicly declare their conflict of interest. This would result in extra scrutiny for neutrality for articles on your clients, but minimize the likelihood of blocks or long-term embarrassment. I am compiling my evidence and plan to bring it to one of the noticeboards shortly and it will help your cause greatly if you self-disclose first. Kilopi (talk) 01:31, 3 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not replace pages with blank content, as you did with this edit to WorldEscape, as this is confusing to readers. The page's content has been restored for now. If there is a problem with the page, it should be edited or reverted to a previous version if possible; if you think the page should be removed entirely, see further information. Thank you.
