Operation Fox Hunt

[edit]

Since you seem to have an interest in China, and issues around surveillance and privacy, I wanted to bring your attention to the article about Operation Fox Hunt. I've also been seeing recent stories about how China is running secret police stations in other countries! Lots going on in the news right now. Cheers! 98.155.8.5 (talk) 06:43, 7 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for drawing this to my attention! --LatakiaHill (talk) 02:15, 8 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Bashu nationalism

[edit]

I agree with your comments on the talk page and think this page should be deleted, and I've proposed deletion. It's pretty much the personal views of one Liu Zhongjing and most of the sources are about Liu, and unlike Tibetan or Uighur independence movements, there is very little outside support of "Bashu nationalism" inside or outside of China. 61.68.64.30 (talk) 15:59, 4 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for reaching out. I think an AfD will need to be opened; the previous AfD seemed to not go through because editors not familiar with Chinese couldn't check the sources to see that the mentions of the supposed are very trivial in the sources. Explaining that the article is nowhere near notable given the sources, and perhaps starting a page on Liu Zhongjing or the 诸夏 fringe movement seems like a better solution that would make both sides happy and would put the "movement" into its broader context, although finding notable sources on Liu Zhongjing for English Wikipedia might be difficult too. As it currently stands, having a standalone Bashu nationalism page makes as much sense as a seperate page for the New Hampshire succession movement. --LatakiaHill (talk) 23:13, 4 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds like a good idea. I'm editing on an IP so I couldn't create a page unfortunately.--61.68.64.30 (talk) 23:15, 4 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
A quick search shows that a Liuzhongjing article was created before and deleted for not being notable. There also seems to be only one English article about him. A direct AfD and nomination for deletion for the Bashu nationalism page may be the best move then, although I'm a bit busy lately. If noone else does it in the next few weeks then I will probably have time to do it. --LatakiaHill (talk) 23:22, 4 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
