The Bog Slog
[edit]The article The Bog Slog has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article seemed to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.
Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. NawlinWiki 10:47, 23 June 2007 (UTC)
The article is about the event, not the school. There's no indication in the article that the event is notable, as shown by reliable independent sources. NawlinWiki 10:53, 23 June 2007 (UTC)
last time i checked, notable meant interesting. Some one in the western isles will want to know more about the bog slog(Lastofthewolves 10:57, 23 June 2007 (UTC))
No, on Wikipedia, "notable" does not mean "interesting." It has a specific meaning, which you can read about here. NawlinWiki 10:58, 23 June 2007 (UTC)
well sorrrryyyy for wasting your time i'll just go play Canis Canem Edit instead, Much more fun(Lastofthewolves 11:00, 23 June 2007 (UTC))
I would like to apologise for my behaviour and bad grammar in my replies to NawlinWiki's comments here. I realise now that I made to many mistaks. (Lastofthewolves 14:26, 6 July 2007 (UTC))
I'm Back
[edit]Is it just me, or would wikipedia be a much better place if , instead of rubbish articles being "speedily deleted" and lost forever, users worked together to help make articles "wiki-worthy". I know you all think that my articles and messages are a bit of a joke, just like everything else in my stinking life, but I would still appreciate a reply to this.(Lastofthewolves 11:25, 23 June 2007 (UTC))
I didn't say your article was a joke. The Bog Slog sounds like a worthy cause. It's just that Wikipedia does have guidelines and is not an indiscriminate collection of information. I deleted the article because I didn't see any reason to think that this local event would ever meet the Wikipedia standards for notability. If we kept all "rubbish articles" hoping they would be improved someday, we'd be drowning in "rubbish". NawlinWiki 11:30, 23 June 2007 (UTC)
Never mind, I'm probably too thick to understand.(Lastofthewolves 11:33, 23 June 2007 (UTC))
Speedy deletion
[edit]The articles are categorised and as such can be found here. The Rambling Man 14:07, 6 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit]If you don't sign a talk page message, I can still figure out who it's from by clicking the History tab for my user talk page, and reviewing the history of who posted what. It's much easier to reply to signed messages because you don't have to search the page history. NawlinWiki 15:25, 6 July 2007 (UTC)
